Reports indicate that Rodriguez, who is 25 years old, experienced elbow discomfort yet again, according to team reporter Jacob Calvin Meyer. The Orioles are said to be reevaluating Grayson Rodriguez's injury and will have more information on the matter in the coming weeks. This time it's elbow discomfort — similar to what he had during spring training, Tony Mansolino said.

6/15/25 Injured Baltimore Orioles Star Utilityman Expects to Return to Lineup Soon. The Baltimore Orioles have had extremely bad injury luck throughout the first part of their 2025 campaign, dealing with a wide variety of setbacks across pretty much the entire roster. From Grayson Rodriguez to Ryan Mountcastle to Tyler O'Neill, they have been having to put up with pretty substantial setbacks for most of the year. This seems to be the case with a few more of their lineup members in the near future as well, with one in particular nearing a return after injury, that being first baseman/outfielder Ryan O'Hearn. O'Hearn suffered an ankle injury recently and has missed a few games in an attempt to recover from it, which seemingly has worked, according to recent reports.

6/12/25 Orioles' Skipper Breaks Silence Gives Update on Star Pitcher's Injury Recovery. One of the many issues that the Baltimore Orioles have had to deal with so far in 2025 has been the absences of star pitcher Grayson Rodriguez due to injury. The right-hander had a breakout campaign in 2024 and, as such, was expected to be a key part of the Orioles' rotation this season. Unfortunately for both him and the team, however, lingering injury issues have kept him sidelined so far in 2025. Rodriguez was initially placed on the 15-day IL at the end of spring training with triceps and elbow discomfort, but things quickly got worse, causing the team to bump up his stay on the IL to 60 days with a lat strain.

5/27/25 Orioles Prospect Has 'Future as Big League Starter' With Impressive Arsenal. There may not be a team in baseball that needs to unearth some pitching help more than the Baltimore Orioles. Injuries to Grayson Rodriguez and Zach Eflin set back a group that was already behind the eight-ball, lacking front-end talent. Without them, things got ugly fast, with the team's offseason additions of Charlie Morton and Kyle Gibson both failing miserably. Morton remains on the team, but Gibson was designated for assignment after four abysmal starts.

5/16/25 Orioles Must Consider Trading Veteran Infielder to AL Rival Amidst Losing Season. The Baltimore Orioles have one of the worst offenses in all of baseball and it does't look like it's going to get any better. At 15-27, they have the second worst record in the American League going 2-9 in their last 11 games. Grayson Rodriguez has missed time this year while Tyler Wells and Kyle Bradish have yet to make their 2025 season debuts. On the batting front, besides Ryan O'Hearn - .295/.378/.518 - every position player who has had a normal amount of at bats is having subpar statistical seasons.

5/02/25 Is Baltimore Orioles Rotation Sole Reason to Blame for Horrendous Start?. The Baltimore Orioles are off to a disastrous start to the season, and the promising franchise has major concerns now. Coming into the year, expectations for the Orioles was to be a playoff team in the American League and compete for the top spot in the AL East once again. David Schoenfield of ESPN (subscription required) recently wrote about the disastrous start in April for the Orioles. “Having the worst ERA+ in the majors this season certainly isn't great, and it hasn't helped that Grayson Rodriguez hasn't pitched and Zach Eflin went down after three starts, but it's amazing how little they've gotten as a group this season from all those highly rated young hitters.”

5/01/25 Orioles trade idea lands $56 million two-time All-Star from Marlins. The Baltimore Orioles are not off to a good start in 2025. Grayson Rodriguez also began the season on the injured list and Charlie Morton hasn't panned out. If they fight their way back into the mix, they'll need to add a top-level pitcher. Zachary Howell of Clutch Points proposed the idea of them pursuing Miami Marlins right-hander Sandy Alcantara.

Rodriguez started the season on the injured list because of the elbow issue, and a bullpen session scheduled for last week was canceled when he developed a sore shoulder. A second medical opinion sought after an MRI revealed the mild lat strain, Hyde said.
