6/09/25 Cardinals 'Win-Win' Proposal Would Cut Ties With Prolific Slugger. The St. Louis Cardinals have a slugger on their roster with all of the potential in the world but his playing time hasn't been extremely consistent. St. Louis slugger Nolan Gorman is someone who has had an interesting start to his career. With Jordan Walker out, there have been more at-bats to go around for Gorman right now, but he'll be back at some point soon. It will be interesting to see what the Cardinals do in response.

6/06/25 Struggling Cardinals Slugger's Resurgence A Trend To Watch In June, Per Insider. The St. Louis Cardinals have been struggling a little bit as of late. 6/03/25 Will an increase in playing time allow Nolan Gorman to 'step on the gas'?: Cardinals Extra. While the infrequent starts and sporadic at-bats over the past month made it difficult to find — let alone maintain — a rhythm, Nolan Gorman used the time away from the lineup in the batting cage to work on a few things with his swing he described succinctly Tuesday. Gorman started a designated hitter Tuesday and rewarded the Cardinals quickly with a two-run home run to tie the game in the second inning against Kansas City as the Cardinals opened a nine-game homestand. With Jordan Walker on the injured list, there will be more starts and at-bats for the infielder to claim. “Runway” has been the advertised rule for the Cardinals, but even that is limited by the nine batters the Cardinals can fit into the lineup.

6/01/25 'Non-plays' allow Rangers to pile on, leading Cardinals to an 8-1 defeat in Texas. When describing how he saw his club's loss to the Rangers unravel in late innings on Sunday at Globe Life Field, Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol described the defensive moments not as being “good enough to win.” After pinch-hit spots from Nolan Gorman and Ryan Vilade ended the top half of the seventh inning with Alec Burleson stuck on first base, the Cardinals gave up a run in the bottom half of the frame on a sacrifice fly from Wyatt Langford with the bases loaded and saw the Rangers pile on with five runs in the eighth, leading to an 8-1 loss.

5/25/25 Nolan Gorman On Trade Block? MLB Writer Floats Cardinals Prediction. The St. Louis Cardinals are looking like a team that can do some damage in the National League. St. Louis entered play on Sunday sporting a 29-23 record and looking to sweep the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals have found success specifically in the month of May because of the fact that they have had the best defense in baseball and have been average to above-average in pretty much every other area. The Cardinals do all of the little things right and if they continue to play the way they have in May over the next few months, the July 31st Major League Baseball trade deadline will very interesting.

5/03/25 Cardinals Should Bring Back Top Prospect, Demote Struggling Slugger. The St. Louis Cardinals are struggling a bit to start 2025. Nolan Gorman is hitting .172 after going 0-for-4 in Friday night's series opening loss to the New York Mets. Earlier in the week, Thomas Saggese was sent down to Triple-A Memphis so that he can play every day. It's important that young players get opportunities, and the Cardinals do need to stay true to their reset.

4/18/25 Could Cardinals Phenom Push Slugger Off St. Louis' Roster?. The St. Louis Cardinals recently called up infielder Thomas Saggese and he's done nothing short of proving he belongs at the big league level. Saggese has been working his way up St. Louis' farm system since and impressing all along the way. Saggese was called up to replace Nolan Gorman after he was placed on the Injured List due to a hamstring injury.

4/16/25 Cardinals Phenom Making Difficult Decision Seem Easy For St. Louis. The St. Louis Cardinals recently called up young infielder Thomas Saggese when Nolan Gorman went on the Injured List. Saggese filled a need quickly for the Cardinals and has done nothing but hit since. The Cardinals' offense overall has been good, but Saggese has been one of the best overall offensive pieces for the team since making his season debut. Cardinals shortstop Masyn Winn is currently on the Injured List and should be back soon.

4/14/25 Cardinals Will Have To Cut Ties With 1 Option To Minors Soon. The St. Louis Cardinals are going to have a pretty tough decision to make in the near future. St. Louis recently called up young infielder Thomas Saggese when Nolan Gorman was briefly placed on the Injured List. There have been questions about St. Louis' infield depth throughout the season to this point and Saggese seems like an easy option to help. Gorman is back, but the Cardinals didn't have to make a tough decision yet because Masyn Winn was placed on the Injured List when the young slugger was brought back up.

4/04/25 Cardinals' Nolan Gorman injury move comes with a promising catch. The St. Louis Cardinals placed infielder Nolan Gorman on the injured list due to a right hamstring strain on Friday. The Cardinals' move is retroactive to April 2. Thomas Saggese, who “will serve as bench depth” according to Woo, was recalled in a corresponding move. Gorman struggled in 2024, although he was limited to only 107 games played.

4/01/25 Hochman: Reconstructed runway — can Cardinals still get Nolan Gorman enough at-bats?. Well, we entered spring thinking the 2025 Cardinals would lose a lot, but at least Nolan Gorman would get a lot of at-bats. After the first series of 2025, the Cardinals had yet to lose, but Gorman didn't start two of the three games. This season, the Cardinals must get Gorman enough at-bats to find out, once and for all, if Gorman is good enough to play every day. “Clearly we're going to have to find a way to balance (everything) to try to make sure we give him that runway like we've talked about for the last five or six months,” Cardinals executive John Mozeliak said on opening day.
