7/26/25 | Yankees activate pitcher from IL before Phillies clash. The New York Yankees made a roster move Saturday morning aimed at addressing their recently struggling bullpen, activating right-handed reliever Yerry De Los Santos from the 15-day injured list ahead of Game 2 against the Philadelphia Phillies. The roster update comes after New York's bullpen was tagged for 10 runs in a 12-5 loss at Yankee Stadium Friday night, and it sends right-hander Scott Effross back to Triple-A following another ineffective outing. The return of De Los Santos adds a fresh arm to a bullpen that's been in disarray. The 27-year-old from the Dominican Republic hasn't pitched for the Yankees since June 18th due to right elbow discomfort but showed solid command in minor league rehab appearances this month. Yerry De Los Santos was placed on the injured list recently with an elbow issue, but it doesn't appear to be serious. AP By Max Goodman | NJ Advance Media for NJ.com NEW YORK — As manager Aaron Boone put it before Saturday's feel-good win over the Oriole s, the Yankees are still a work in progress in their bullpen. Luke Weaver is back from the injured list, but Jake Cousins is out for the year (and then some) after undergoing Tommy John surgery this week. 3/17/25 | Yankees reliever making case for bullpen spot with help from new pitch. The Yankees were hoping right-hander Yerry De Los Santos would put himself in a position to earn a bullpen roster spot this time last year. This time around, armed with a third pitch, De Los Santos has had much more success. With a spot on the 40-man roster — a bump he received this past winter — De Los Santos is even more of an attractive bullpen fit. Source: https://www.nj.com/yankees/2025/03/yankees-relieve... |

11/03/24 | Yankees prevent trio of minor league veterans from hitting free agency. The Yankees ensured three minor league veterans in their system would not become free agents. Righty Yerry De Los Santos, catcher J.C. Escarra and outfielder Taylor Trammell were added to the club's 40-man roster on Sunday ahead of Monday's initial day of free agency. All three finished their 2024 seasons at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The Yankees added Taylor Trammell to their 40-man roster. 11/21/23 | On Yoshinobu Yamamoto posting day, Yankees add reliever with 1st free agent signing. While we wait to see if the Yankees will be all-in on Japanese pitching phenom Yoshinobu Yamamoto and if they'll go big on one of the two outfield holes that need addressed this winter, they added a little bullpen depth on Monday. The signing of Yerry De Los Santos to a minor-league deal probably won't excite fans, but the 6-foot-2, 210-pound right-hander is intriguing because of his age, his 2023 big-league stats and his 95-mph sinker/nasty slider arsenal. 7/12/22 | Padres Ruiz The Hounds.
Yerry De Los Santos is commonly known as Yerry Across The Mersey, and now that Esteury Ruiz seems on the precipice of being called up we have a new river. The best river since Alex Rios? Well, thanks for asking since I did major in geography at the Fantasy Baseball College of Charleston. 1. Mickey Rivers 2. Alex Rios 3. Esteury Ruiz. 4. Dylan Bundy, who isn't named for a body of water, but is always a streamer. Unranked: Drew Waters. You know how close those were though? It's hard to fathoms. Damn, you walked into that one! For the Padres, Esteury was called up to the taxi squad in Colorado, and, with Profar out, Ruiz could be with the team at any moment. Why do we care? Okay, okay, wanna get to the meat, huh? He's got 50+ steal speed! That's it! It's a wrap! Okay, he could hit 10 homers and .300. Whatevs! I don't know why the Padres haven't just put him on the squad already, but I bet it's any moment. Grab him now, before it's like trying to grab water out of a river. Poetic! Anyway, here's what else I saw yesterday in fantasy baseball: Source: https://razzball.com/esteury-ruiz-fantasy/... |
