7/17/25 Guardians could survey trade options for high-leverage relief pitcher. TSN’s Allan Perkins believes that Hunter Gaddis could be a target for the Toronto Blue Jays

7/17/25 Guardians, Blue Jays Linked to Trade Deadline Move for Star Pitcher. The Cleveland Guardians have quite a few pieces that could be for sale between now and the MLB trade deadline, and the Toronto Blue Jays could be interested. Allan Perkins of TSN has suggested that the Blue Jays pursue a trade for Guardians relief pitcher Hunter Gaddis before July 31, citing Toronto's need for bullpen help. Gaddis was a dynamo last season, pitching to the tune of a 1.57 ERA while allowing just 43 hits and registering 66 strikeouts over 74.2 innings of work. There definitely exists a world in which Cleveland moves Gaddis, especially if it decides to hold on to Emmanuel Clase and Cade Smith.

7/10/25 Bullpen Plan B works just fine in sweep of Astros: Guardians breakfast today. Especially on nights like Wednesday when the Guardians' bullpen was stretched thin by too much work. Hunter Gaddis, Cade Smith and Emmanel Clase were not available in the season finale against the Astros. Tim Herrin, the other member of the big four, was optioned to Triple-A Columbus before the game. It's an unsettling position to be in if you're Stephen Vogt, manager of the Guardians.

6/29/25 Cards complete 3-game sweep of Guardians with 7-0 victory. Gorman went deep in the first inning off Logan Allen (5-6), while Scott homered off Hunter Gaddis in the seventh to extend the Cardinals' lead to 5-0. Pedro Pagés and Garrett Hampson added RBIs in the eighth. St. Louis has won six straight on the road, its longest run under fourth-year manager Oliver Marmol. The Cardinals completed their initial series sweep of Cleveland by a 21-6 margin in the three-game set.

5/27/25 Nic Enright completes journey from cancer diagnosis to MLB debut with Cleveland Guardians. Enright threw two scoreless innings and struck out three for Cleveland on Sunday in a 5-0 loss to Detroit. He was called up on Saturday after Hunter Gaddis was placed on the bereavement list.

3/28/25 King-sized pickle helps Cleveland flush Royals: Guardians breakfast today. Cleveland was clinging to a one-run lead with runners on the corners and nobody out in the eighth inning. Hunter Gaddis delivered a 2-2 slider that Jonathan India slashed sharply on two hops toward José Ramírez at third base. Ramírez came up firing to the plate, and catcher Bo Naylor ran speedy Darion Blanco back toward the bag before flipping back to Ramírez for the tag.

2/26/25 Analyst Pinpoints New Guardians Pitcher as Major Sleeper. The Cleveland Guardians managed to embark on an astonishing run last season thanks much in part to the strength of their dynamic bullpen. The Guardians' bullpen was historically good in 2024, especially in the back end where Cleveland had Hunter Gaddis, Cade Smith and Emmanuel Clase locking down the later innings. Can the Guardians replicate that success in 2025? It will certainly be a tough act to follow, but Anthony Castrovince has identified another pitcher who may help Cleveland reach that point again: offseason addition Luis Frias.

10/13/24 5 moments that mattered from the Guardians' ALDS Game 5 win vs. Detroit. Saturday's Game 5 of the American League Division Series between Detroit and Cleveland was no different. The 7-3 Cleveland victory featured big strikeouts from Hunter Gaddis and Eli Morgan, solid defensive plays from Brayan Rocchio and at least one very memorable at-bat from Lane Thomas that ended with the Guardians in front by four runs.

4/24/24 Two relievers put I-71 in their rearview mirror: Guardians takeaways. Right-hander Hunter Gaddis and left-hander Tim Herrin are two of the reasons why the Guardians' bullpen has pitched so well through the first 23 games of the season. The bullpen entered Wednesday night's game against Boston with a record of 7-2 with a 2.05 ERA and eight saves in 11 chances. Gaddis and Herrin spent much of last season driving between Class AAA Columbus and Cleveland on I-71. Gaddis made three trips to the big league club, while Herrin made five.

5/23/23 Zunino hits 2-run homer, Gaddis gets 1st win, Guardians beat White Sox 3-0 to end slide. Rookie Hunter Gaddis pitched six strong innings for his first major league win and struggling Cleveland catcher Mike Zunino connected for a two-run homer, sending the Guardians over the Chicago White Sox 3-0. Gaddis was recalled earlier in the day from Triple-A Columbus and gave the Guardians a badly needed quality start after they were swept over the weekend in New York, losing all three to the Mets by one run. Zunino, who has been a target of fan complaints because he’s not been hitting, belted his third homer in the seventh off reliever Gregory Santos. Before he connected, Zunino was in a 1 for 31 slump with 21 strikeouts. The White Sox had their three-game winning streak stopped.

5/21/23 Guardians will start Hunter Gaddis on Monday night; George Valera on injured list. Rookie right-hander Hunter Gaddis, who opened the season in the Guardians' rotation, is returning for at least one start. Manager Terry Francona said Sunday morning that Gaddis would be recalled from Class AAA Columbus in time to start Monday night's game against the White Sox at Progressive Field. Gaddis will take the place of Peyton Battenfield, who went on the injured list with a sore right shoulder after Thursday's start against the White Sox.
