7/22/25 Angels Notes: All-Star Returns to Lineup, Taylor Ward Gets Honest on Trade Deadline, More. The Los Angeles Angels dropped the first of a three-game set against the New York Mets on Monday, 7-5. The Angels jumped to an early lead through a Logan O'Hoppe solo shot and a Taylor Ward two-run double, however, a late-inning rally from the Mets proved to be too much to handle. In other news, the Angels reinstated All-Star utility man Chris Taylor from the injured list on Monday, sending outfielder Gustavo Campero back to Triple-A. Taylor had been out since June 9 with a fractured hand, which he suffered after getting hit with a pitch.

The Los Angeles Angels took a dramatic 6-5 win over the Diamondbacks in their series opener on Friday. They jumped to a first-inning 4-0 lead, but found themselves level at five in the bottom of the ninth. Travis d'Arnaud did as he has done over the past month and came up big for the Halos, plating fellow catcher Logan O'Hoppe with a walk-off single to left field. 7/05/25 Angels Catcher Receives Rolex From Braves All-Star. The Los Angeles Angels signed catcher Travis d'Arnaud last offseason to a two-year, $12 million deal. A young Logan O'Hoppe would get a veteran backup that could provide the catcher with guidance and counsel throughout the season. “Going through the offseason, we felt like adding some experience behind the plate would be really, really important,” Angels general manager Perry Minasian said following the signing of d'Arnaud. Prior to joining the Halos, d'Arnaud spent the last five seasons of his MLB career with the Atlanta Braves.

6/24/25 Angels Manager Calls Out Logan O'Hoppe, Reveals Why He's Losing Playing Time. Earlier in the season, the Los Angeles Angels tended to keep the same pitching and catching partners together. Logan O'Hoppe would regularly catch for Jack Kochanowicz, Tyler Anderson and José Soriano, while Travis d'Arnaud caught for Yusei Kikuchi and Kyle Hendricks. The Angels have recently switched up some of those pairings, allowing O'Hoppe to catch for Hendricks in his last two starts.

The Los Angeles Angels will try to win their second straight series against an American League division leader on Sunday afternoon when they face the West-leading Houston Astros in Anaheim, Calif. The Angels took three of four games earlier in the week in New York against the East-leading Yankees. After dropping the series opener to the Astros 3-2 in 10 innings on Friday, Los Angeles posted a 9-1 victory Saturday as catcher Logan O'Hoppe hit two home runs and drove in four runs and right-hander Jose Soriano struck out 10 while allowing one run on three hits over 6 2/3 innings.

Catcher Logan O'Hoppe was pinch hitting and earned a 3-0 count with one on against Yankees reliever Devin Williams. It went into the glove of Yankees third baseman Oswald Peraza as the Angels dropped their fourth in a row. The Los Angeles Angels expect to have catcher Logan O'Hoppe back in the starting lineup for the series finale against the New York Yankees on Wednesday night in Anaheim, Calif. O'Hoppe led off the fourth with his second homer of the game, third in two nights and 13th of the season, just before Adell hit his sixth. Neto's two-run homer in the third, his eighth, gave the Angels the lead for good at 4-3.

The Los Angeles Angels continued to play better baseball on Tuesday night, beating the Athletics 7-5 in West Sacramento. The Halos are now 22-25, and have moved into fourth place in the American League West. Logan O'Hoppe hit a home run in the win, and Yoan Moncada continued his career resurrection with a blast as well. On the mound, Kyle Hendricks earned his second win and Kenley Jansen got his 10th save.

Logan O'Hoppe homered and had a tiebreaking RBI single as the Los Angeles Angels beat the Athletics 7-5 on Tuesday night for their fifth straight win. Kenley Jansen gave up pinch-hitter Seth Brown’s RBI single in the bottom of the ninth but struck out Tyler Soderstrom to get his 10th save and hand the Athletics their seventh straight loss. Yoán Moncada had a tying three-run homer in the fifth to tie it 4-4 before O'Hoppe's RBI single put the Angels ahead for good.
