8/01/25 After long road to majors, Warming Bernabel's debut 'breath of fresh air' for struggling Rockies. Warming Bernabel didn't get the message that the Rockies' season is a lost cause. Entering the start of Colorado's homestand on Friday, the 23-year-old is hitting .389 with a 1.254 OPS, including two homers and two doubles. “I see immediate confidence coming up from the minor leagues,” interim manager Warren Schaeffer said. “It's a breath of fresh air to see that coming up from the minor leagues, ready to hit like that.”

2/26/24 Rockies' Warming Bernabel, after surviving robbery and gun shot, trying to make his mark. Considering what happened to Warming Bernabel, the question begged to be asked. “Absolutely,” the Rockies' soft-spoken, 21-year-old third base prospect said. On Dec. 3, in his hometown of Bani in the Dominican Republic, Bernabel was shot through the back. Bernabel remembers all of the details of that night.

2/10/23 Warming Bernabel, who went from fringe prospect to one of the Rockies' most intriguing bats, to be tested in Double-A in 2023. In four years, Warming Bernabel has gone from a fringe Latin prospect to one of the most intriguing young hitters in the Rockies organization. Bernabel, 20, was added to the Rockies' 40-man roster in November as a result of his rapid rise through the lower minor leagues. Now the third baseman is ready to climb through the upper minor leagues as he's likely to break camp with Double-A Hartford. A native of Bani, Dominican Republic, Bernabel signed in 2018 for $900,000 as an international free agent.
