Tim Herrin had never in his career stepped in for an injured pitcher with no time to warm up in the bullpen before he took the mound in relief of teammate Paul Sewald last week against Minnesota. Now, the Guardians lefty has done so twice after entering Sunday's win against Toronto when Tanner Bibee suffered cramps in both of his legs while warming up before the sixth inning. In both cases, Herrin was given all the time he needed to get loose. “The hardest part is warming up on the game mound,” Herrin said. Source: https://www.cleveland.com/guardians/2025/05/reliev... |

Then came the two runs charged to Nick Sandlin in the eighth, along with a blocking the plate call against catcher Mike Zunino, and that was just enough for the Nationals to avoid a three-game sweep with a 7-6 victory.
