7/19/25 Pirates Make Catcher Change vs. White Sox. PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Pirates take on the Chicago White Sox at PNC Park for the second straight game, with one lineup change. Henry Davis takes over from Joey Bart at catcher and will bat eighth in the lineup. This is the seventh straight game that the Pirates have alternated between Davis and Bart at catcher. The former 1st overall pick in the 2021 MLB Draft has struggled from the plate this season, slashing .197/.257/.326 for an OPS of .583 in 47 games, with 26 hits in 132 at-bats, five doubles, four home runs, 12 RBIs and 10 walks to 34 strikeouts. Bart has also hit poorly as of recent, batting .236 on the season, but .167 in his past seven games, with three hits in 18 at-bats. The Pirates

7/01/25 Henry Davis saves Pirates win streak with insane tag. The Pittsburgh Pirates extended their season-best winning streak to five games Tuesday night, edging the St. Louis Cardinals 1-0 in a tense showdown at PNC Park. While pitching and defense carried the day once again, it was catcher Henry Davis' highlight-reel tag at home plate that proved to be the difference-maker. After scoring 37 runs over their previous four games, the Pirates were locked in a pitching duel that required a more old-school brand of baseball — and they delivered. Rookie sensation Paul Skenes navigated early traffic in his 18th start, throwing five scoreless innings and striking out five, despite allowing five hits and a walk.

6/10/25 Pirates Make Two Lineup Changes vs. Marlins. The Pittsburgh Pirates made two important changes to their lineup for the second game of their series vs. the Miami Marlins at PNC Park. Henry Davis takes over at catcher from Brett Sullivan and will bat seventh in the lineup, as he makes his third start in the past four games. Sullivan made his first start for the Pirates in the series opener vs. the Marlins on June 9, a 10-3 win for the home team. Isiah Kiner-Falefa also returns to shortstop in place of Jared Triolo and will hit ninth in the batting order.

6/09/25 Pirates GM Provides Injury Update for Catcher. The Pittsburgh Pirates lost one of their main catchers to a recent injury, that forced them out of a game. 4/17/25 Henry Davis, Pirates aim for series win vs. Nationals. Pittsburgh Pirates catcher Henry Davis is having fun again after a shaky start to his major league career. Davis figures to be in the lineup again when the Pirates conclude their four-game series against the visiting Washington Nationals on Thursday afternoon. Pittsburgh has won two of the first three games of the set, including a 6-1 victory on Wednesday. The Nationals were held to three hits while losing for the fourth time in five games.

4/15/25 Pittsburgh Pirates' Paul Skenes Makes Incredible History with Battery Mate Henry Davis. The Pittsburgh Pirates walloped the Washington Nationals 10-3 on Monday night, moving to 6-11 on the year in the process. The Nationals dropped to 6-10. The former No. 1 pick in the draft (2023), Skenes went 6.0 innings, allowing just one earned run on three hits. Just recalled from the minor leagues, catcher Henry Davis entered the game in the bottom of the first inning because of injury, creating some unique baseball history for the Pirates.

4/12/25 Pirates' latest roster move will catch Paul Skenes' attention. The Pittsburgh Pirates have arguably the most must-see starting pitcher in MLB today, but they remain mired in irrelevance following a 5-9 start to the 2025 campaign. Pittsburgh is recalling the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 MLB Draft, catcher Henry Davis, per MLB.com's Alex Stumpf. “No word on the corresponding move yet,” the beat reporter posted on X. “Joey Bart exited Friday's game with low back discomfort.” Bart is slashing a respectable .275/.370/.425/.795 through 12 games and recently recorded a walk-off hit, so losing him to the injured list would be a rough break.

3/24/25 Pirates Manager Explains Henry Davis Decision. Pittsburgh Pirates catcher Henry Davis won't make the opening day roster, which some see as a disppointment from the former first overall pick. The Pirates announced that they sent Davis, plus outfielder Billy Cook and infielder Nick Yorke to Triple-A Indianapolis on March 22, just five days ahead of the 2025 season opener. This gave Endy Rodríguez the win in the backup catcher battle ahead of the March 27 opening day game vs. the Miami Marlins on the road.

2/20/25 Pirates' Former Top Pick Has Most To Prove In Spring Training. Time is of the essence for Pittsburgh Pirates catcher Henry Davis. With how crowded things are behind the plate and Davis struggling during his stints in the big leagues in 2023 and 2024, MLB.com's Alex Stumpf listed him as the Pirates player with the most to prove in Spring Training this year.

11/22/24 Joey Bart's Emergence Gives Pirates An Answer. With former top prospect Endy Rodríguez out for most of the season due to an elbow injury that required surgery and Henry Davis yet to live up to expectations, there weren't many viable options behind the plate heading into the 2024 season. Joey Bart turned things around and had the best season of his career after Pittsburgh landed him in a trade after he was designated for assignment by the San Francisco Giants. With Bart's play in his first season with the Pirates, Bleacher Report ranked Bart as the No. 18 catcher in baseball for his play last season. "The catcher of the future for the Giants from the moment he was taken No. 2 overall in the 2018 draft, Bart never lived up to expectations in San Francisco and was designated for assignment shortly after Opening Day and traded to Pittsburgh," Reuter writes.
