7/29/25 Rumored Red Sox Trade Target Doesn't Want To Be Moved. The Boston Red Sox are reportedly in the market for catching help. Carlos Narvaez has been excellent behind the plate, but he's a rookie shouldering the biggest workload of his career, and he needs time off his feet to remain productive. Connor Wong has been good defensively, but his bat has been basically non-existent. Danny Jansen was traded from the Tampa Bay Rays to the Milwaukee Brewers.

7/24/25 Red Sox Linked to Deal for Former Fan Favorite Christian Vázquez. Sneakily, the Boston Red Sox could use some help behind the plate. It isn't that Carlos Narvaez hasn't been excellent this season, but asking him to catch every single day isn’t a recipe for success in the short or long term. The Red Sox clearly have something with Narvaez, who has played much better than many were expecting entering the campaign.

7/24/25 Red Sox Catcher Goes In-Depth On Key Play In Win Over Phillies. The Boston Red Sox beat the Philadelphia Phillies 9-8 on Wednesday night. The game was a back-and-forth affair that featured several lead changes, multiple home runs and two extra innings. While Red Sox catcher Carlos Narvaez's go-ahead, two-run home run in the 11th inning will be what most people remember from the game, he also had a key play in the bottom of the tenth inning when he threw Weston Wilson out at second base to end the inning.

7/23/25 Red Sox Fans Struggling with Baseball Rules. Two nights in a row we had goofy plays with Boston Red Sox catcher Carlos Narvaez. If you go into the MLB box score, this play is ruled a balk. Harper scores, Nick Castellanos to third, and THEN Brandon Marsh is awarded first base on catcher's interference.

7/22/25 Phillies claim another wild, walk-off win on catcher's interference with bases loaded in 10th. Edmundo Sosa’s teammates on the Philadelphia Phillies mobbed him beyond first base after a 3-2, walk-off win over the Boston Red Sox on Monday night. In the moment, it didn’t matter to him that he’d gotten there thanks to a call of catcher’s interference. Sosa won the game when, with the bases loaded and no out in the 10th inning, his check swing on a 2-2 pitch struck the glove of catcher Carlos Narvaez. The Phillies dugout called for a review, which showed the contact, allowing Sosa to take first and automatic runner Brandon Marsh to score the winning run.

7/17/25 Carlos Narvaez Reveals NSFW Message He Uses To Fire Up Key Red Sox Pitcher. The Boston Red Sox have gotten contributions from up and down their roster in the 2025 campaign. One of their more unsung heroes has been catcher Carlos Narvaez, who has emerged from out of nowhere to become one of the top players at his position across the majors. Narvaez was picked up in an under-the-radar trade with the New York Yankees over the offseason, and while he was initially expected to be Connor Wong's backup, he's ended up stealing the starting job from him. At the plate, Narvaez has been a revelation, as he's hitting .273 with eight home runs and 31 RBIs.

7/11/25 Yankees Promote Former Red Sox Prospect Acquired In Carlos Narvaez Trade. The Boston Red Sox landed a major heist when acquiring Carlos Narváez from the New York Yankees last offseason. At this point, the Yankees can only hope their acquisition turns a regrettable deal into a win-win. Last December, the Yankees sent Narváez to the Red Sox for Elmer Rodriguez-Cruz. While Boston certainly has no complaints over its return, the 21-year-old pitching prospect has also shown promise in New York's farm system.

6/27/25 Struggling Red Sox host Blue Jays in AL East clash. Mired in a five-game losing streak, the Boston Red Sox will look to stir up some offense Friday night when they open a three-game series against the visiting Toronto Blue Jays in a matchup of American League East teams. After losing to the Los Angeles Angels 3-2 in 10 innings on Tuesday, Boston was held to two unearned runs Wednesday when the Angels completed a three-game sweep with a 5-2 victory. The Red Sox scored twice in the first inning, but had only two baserunners after that -- on a two-out single from Carlos Narvaez in the third and a one-out walk to pinch hitter Roman Anthony in the eighth.

6/25/25 Red Sox had Angels' starter on ropes in first inning; after that, had just one hit. Hopeful that they could salvage a win and avoid a three-game series sweep with the Los Angeles Angels, things began well for the Red Sox Wednesday. A chance to snap their four-game losing streak seemed within their grasp. After scoring twice in the third, the Red Sox not only didn't score again over the final eight innings — they barely got on base again. There was a two-out single from Carlos Narvaez in the third and a one-out walk to pinch-hitter Roman Anthony in the eighth.

6/15/25 Bob Nightengale compares underrated Red Sox-Yankees trade to Babe Ruth deal. USA TODAY baseball writer Bob Nightengale is comparing a recent Boston Red Sox-New York Yankees trade to the historic Babe Ruth deal. The Red Sox acquired catcher Carlos Narvaez from the Yankees for pitching prospect Elmer Rodriguez-Cruz. Narvaez is proving to be a gem for the Red Sox, as he has come up big for the team in recent wins against New York. “It may be a century later, but the Boston Red Sox at least are getting a little payback from selling Babe Ruth to the Yankees,” Nightengale wrote for USA TODAY.

Carlos Narvaez hit a three-run homer against his former team to spark a five-run sixth inning as the Boston Red Sox downed the host New York Yankees 11-7 on Sunday night. 6/06/25 Carlos Narvaez ready to see the other side of Red Sox-Yankees rivalry. Carlos Narvaez has been one of the few bright spots with the Boston Red Sox this season, emerging as the team's everyday catcher and current cleanup hitter. This weekend, he'll get his first taste of the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry from the Boston side of things. Before arriving in Boston over the winter, Narvaez spent nine years in the Yankees organization after signing with New York as an international free agent in 2015.

6/04/25 Red Sox catcher ranked staggeringly high in rookie power ranking. While the Boston Red Sox have been disappointing to this point in 2025, the franchise has had a few individual overachievers. The headliner is catcher Carlos Narvaez, whom the front office was able to trade for over the offseason. The former New York Yankee had an encouraging season in Triple-A last year, but has really taken his game to another level with his new team. Narvaez is getting his just props from Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter, and he has the catcher ranked as the second-best rookie in 2025.
