8/03/25 Braves No. 4 Prospect Appointed Extra Player for Speedway Classic. The Atlanta Braves have added pitching help for the remainder of the MLB Speedway Classic. The team announced Sunday morning that right-hander and No. 4 prospect Hurston Waldrep was appointed as the extra player for the remainder of the game. Infielder Jonathan Ornelas, the original appointee, has been sent back to Triple-A Gwinnett. Waldrep finally makes his way back to the Major League roster in some capacity.

7/15/25 Braves No. 2 Prospect Finally Finding Stride in Triple-A. A potential solution could be materializing for the Atlanta Braves' rotation, as their No. 2 prospect, Hurston Waldrep, is starting to find his way this season in Triple-A. Over his last five starts, he has a 2.51 ERA with 23 strikeouts across 28 2/3 innings pitched. If Waldrep keeps this up for a few more starts, the Braves might be comfortable with giving him another shot at the Majors.

5/21/25 Former Gators Pitcher, Braves Prospect Trending Toward Being MLB Ready. Former Florida Gators weekend starter and Atlanta Braves prospect Hurston Waldrep has been correcting course as of late in Triple-A. In Wednesday's start against the Louisville Bats, he pitched six innings of two-run ball on six hits and two walks while striking out nine. In his last three starts, he has a 2.79 ERA and has pitched into the sixth inning each time. In his first six starts, he had a 7.02 ERA and never got past the fifth inning, which he only did twice.

NORTH PORT, Fla. — The Braves have started to trim their roster in recent days as they draw closer to the regular season. They optioned pitchers Hurston Waldrep, Davis Daniel, Dylan Dodd and Amos Willingham to Triple-A Gwinnett and reassigned pitchers Enoli Paredes, Wander Suero and Royber Salinas to minor-league camp. The camp roster is down to 53 players. Waldrep marks the most notable player among the bunch. A Cairo native and University of Florida product, Waldrep ranks among the Braves' top prospects. 2/25/25 Braves No. 3 Prospect Has Strong 2025 Spring Training Debut. Atlanta Braves No. 2 prospect Hurston Waldrep made his 2025 Spring Training debut in the 2-1 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. In his third-ever appearance in a Spring Training game, he came out of the bullpen and pitched a scoreless inning. Waldrep was the Braves No. 3 prospect on MLB.com in 2024. The Braves drafted him out of the University of Florida in the first round of the 2023 MLB Draft.

At this point, it would be a shock if nobody is moved over the offseason to aid the Braves' quest to make important upgrades in the lineup and in the starting rotation. While teams have been reported to be looking into Braves pitching prospect Hurston Waldrep (No. 3 prospect), the Braves have made it clear he's not going anywhere.
