The Cleveland Guardians could potentially sell off some pieces before the MLB trade deadline, even though they have been playing terrific baseball of late. While the Guardians have won 11 of their last 14 games following a 10-game losing streak, they are still just a .500 ballclub, which puts them in a rather difficult position as far as legitimate contention is concerned. The Seattle Mariners have been linked to several different first basemen in advance of the MLB Trade Deadline, which is July 31. There's Carlos Santana, who formerly played for the Mariners (2022), Josh Naylor (Arizona Diamondbacks) and Ryan O'Hearn (Baltimore Orioles) as vidid examples. Santana is a switch-hitter, but Naylor and O'Hearn are both lefties, which could complicate matters for the M's. For the Cleveland Guardians, they're fortunate to have a few players who do, such as Carlos Santana. Santana, who has been around this league for a very long time, with this being his 16th season in the show, has done everything that anybody could ask of him. The Cleveland Guardians first baseman went 2-for-4 against the Chicago Cubs, leading his team in hits and total bases thanks to his leadoff double in the top of the fourth. It marked the 400th double of Santana's 16-year MLB career, even though Cleveland went on to lose 5-2.
