7/31/25 4 final trade predictions for Angels on deadline day. As the clock ticks on the MLB trade deadline, the Angels have a few more hours to buy and make a real push for the final American League Wild Card spot in the final two months of the season even after their disheartening loss to the Texas Rangers on Wednesday night. Many across the league thought a reunion between Kenley Jansen and the Los Angeles Dodgers made a lot of sense.

7/31/25 MLB Rumors: Angels Trading Ex-Red Sox Closer Kenley Jansen?. The trade market for MLB closers is red-hot following a pair of blockbuster trades Wednesday. “Closer Kenley Jansen is the Angels' most desirable potential free agent, and club officials sent conflicting signals after the trade with the Nationals on whether he might still be available,” The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal reported Thursday.

7/30/25 Angels, Rangers meet again, eye wild-card position. Heading into a 13-game homestand, it appeared the Los Angeles Angels would be sellers at Thursday's trade deadline, with veteran closer Kenley Jansen drawing significant interest. The Angels and Rangers will meet again Wednesday night in Anaheim, Calif. On Tuesday, Jansen became the first Angels closer since Huston Street in 2016 to record a save in three consecutive games, after he pitched a scoreless ninth in an 8-5 win. It was the 20th save of the season for Jansen and the 467th of his career.

7/29/25 Angels Expected to Cut Ties With $10 Million All-Star at Trade Deadline. It was reported last week that the Los Angeles Angels were open to trading their pending free agents at the trade deadline. While recent reporting suggests the Angels may have had a change of heart, if the Halos do sell, closer Kenley Jansen seems to be at the top of the list of Angels players to be traded. “I've got to think where they are in the standings right now that they need to move on from Jansen,” MLB insider Jim Bowden said on Foul Territory.

7/27/25 Dodgers Urged to Bring Back All-Star Fan Favorite in Trade Deadline Deal. The Los Angeles Dodgers are rumored to make a flurry of moves ahead of the trade deadline, but Los Angeles Times columnist Bill Shaikin theorized a deal that would bring a familiar face back to the bullpen at Dodger Stadium. The pitching roster has been a mess for LA all year, but former Dodger and current Los Angeles Angels closer Kenley Jansen is just a quick trip down the I-5 Freeway away from a reunion. Jansen told Shaikin on Friday that he thought he would play out the entirety of his MLB career with the team that first offered him a contract over two decades ago, back when he was a catching prospect (and doing so for Clayton Kershaw during rookie ball, at that).

7/27/25 Angels Predicted to Send Star Outfielder to AL West Rival in Trade Deadline Shocker. The Los Angeles Angels recently revealed all of their pending free agents will be available at the trade deadline. This includes closer Kenley Jansen, starting pitcher Tyler Anderson, third baseman Yoan Moncada and infielder Luis Rengifo. Although left fielder Taylor Ward is under team control through the 2026 season, the Angels have also said he will be available for trade if the right offer comes along.

7/26/25 Writer floats Dodgers-Angels Kenley Jansen trade idea. Kenley Jansen's baseball story has always been intertwined with the Los Angeles Dodgers. From catching Clayton Kershaw in rookie ball to becoming the franchise's all-time saves leader, Jansen carved out a legacy in Dodger blue. “I thought I would play my whole career with the Dodgers,” Jansen said recently. The Dodgers are hunting for right-handed bullpen help with urgency.

7/26/25 Shaikin: Home again? Why Kenley Jansen could be a good trade match for Dodgers. An MLB trade deadline reunion between the Dodgers and Kenley Jansen could make sense for a team looking to bolster its right-handed pitching out of the bullpen.

7/20/25 Angels All-Star Trade Candidate Makes His Intentions Clear as Deadline Looms. Kenley Jansen has emerged as a potential trade candidate for the Los Angeles Angels ahead of the trade deadline. If the Angels decide to be sellers at the deadline, there is a long list of veterans that could be dealt at the deadline, including Jansen. “I came here with one goal in mind, just trying to help this organization to turn it back to a winning organization,” Jansen said to MLB insider Rhett Bolinger.

7/14/25 Angels' $10 Million All-Star Doesn't Want to Be Traded at Deadline. The Los Angeles Angels are chasing a Wild Card spot, and it remains to be seen whether the team will be buyers or sellers at the July 31 trade deadline. More news: Angels Named Biggest Loser of MLB Draft First Round. There have been several Halos mentioned in trade rumors for months, including Angels closer Kenley Jansen. “Not finishing here would be disappointing,” Jansen told The Athletic.

7/13/25 Angels' Kenley Jansen makes 'disappointing' confession amid trade buzz. The Los Angeles Angels remain in the fringes of the playoff hunt, but the front office cannot operate on delusion and proceed as if they're a surefire candidate to remain in the postseason picture. Jansen only signed a one-year contract with the Angels, and, even though he's been more than solid for LA, racking up 16 saves on an ERA of 3.38 (with only one blown save to boot), if there's an archetype of player that usually gets dealt prior to the trade deadline, it's relief pitchers who can help shore up a playoff team's bullpen for the looming stretch run.

7/07/25 Braves urged to avoid 4-time All-Star at trade deadline. The Atlanta Braves are nine games out of a wild card spot in the National League. Alex Anthopoulos has refused to commit to selling, so the Braves may actually look to make a few additions at the deadline. The Atlanta Braves could be looking for a rental closer to keep their slim postseason dreams alive. FanSided's Henry Palattella urged the Braves to steer clear of Kenley Jansen.

7/06/25 Angels' Future Hall of Famer Not Happy With How He's Sometimes Used. When the Los Angeles Angels acquired future Hall of Fame closer Kenley Jansen this offseason, it was evident that his chase for 500 career saves (entering the season at 447) was in full effect. “If you ask me, a real closer doing it for so long, I do what the team wants you to do, but I'm not a big fan of the four-run lead,” Jansen said. Interim manager Ray Montgomery also spoke on Jansen's usage but brought up a recent rule change regarding how a save is recorded. The 'new rules' in question were instituted in 2020 and refer to how a pitcher must face three batters when entering the game.

7/05/25 Red Sox Predicted To Send Lefty Pitching Tandem To All-Star Game, With Two Snubs. In an up-and-down season, the Boston Red Sox can certainly use the upcoming All-Star break as a chance to catch their breaths. The Red Sox will have at least one representative at the Midsummer Classic on Jul. 15 at Truist Park in Atlanta. The Red Sox have experienced that particular humiliation recently--in 2023, when only closer Kenley Jansen joined the American League roster. Last season, they sent three (Jarren Duran, Rafael Devers, Tanner Houck), but none of that trio will be back, for wildly different reasons.

7/03/25 Cardinals Emerging For Former Red Sox, Dodgers All-Star. If the St. Louis Cardinals add a piece or two this summer, it would make sense to add a bullpen arm. It would be nice for the Cardinals to add another piece before the 2025 Major League Baseball trade deadline on July 31st and FanSided's Thomas Gauvain suggested former Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox All-Star Kenley Jansen. "RHP Kenley Jansen," Gauvain said.

7/02/25 Angels closer Kenley Jansen ‘not a fan’ of holding 4-run leads. Jansen, 37, says he would prefer to limit his workload to close games, particularly those when he has a chance to get a save. So far this season Jansen has pitched five times with a lead too large for a save situation.

6/25/25 Who could close if Kenley Jansen goes?. Whether it's via injury or trade, who steps up if the Angels closer is no longer around? Angels closer Kenley Jansen threw four pitches with significantly lower velocity than usual against the Red Sox on Monday, before indicating there was an issue around his shoulder or pectoral area, and he left the game alongside head trainer Mike Frostad.

6/24/25 Angels Notes: Ex-Angel Retiring, Halos Make Roster Move, Ron Washington Health Update. The Los Angeles Angels beat the Boston Red Sox, 9-5, on Monday evening to kick off a three-game set. The Halos improved to 38-40 on the year. During the game, All-Star closer Kenley Jansen left after just four pitches with an injury. His velocity was down, but acting manager Ray Montgomery said after the game it was just shoulder cramping. In other news, the Angels learned that a former catcher of theirs is set to retire at the end of the season. The backstop was drafted by the team in the 27th round of the 2004 draft. Additionally, a veteran infielder was placed on the paternity list, leading to Kyren Paris getting recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake. The young infielder is back with the team for
