After being swept by the Washington Nationals over the weekend in a series when they also fired manager Brandon Hyde and cut veteran starter Kyle Gibson, the Orioles dropped to 15-30 and found themselves a season-low 15 games under .500. In fact, the only teams to overcome even 10 games under .500 and complete a championship run are the 2003 Florida Marlins (started 19-29) and 2019 Nationals (19-31).
