San Diego Padres All-Star relief pitcher Jason Adam reflected on the first time he was traded in the minor leagues and how shocked he was by the decision. After promoting him to Triple-A, they dealt him to the Minnesota Twins for veteran Josh Willingham in the final year of his MLB career.

7/12/25 Kyle Schwarber, Nick Castellanos both homer, but Phillies still fall to Padres. All-Star reliever Jason Adam got out of a bases-loaded jam in the eighth inning, and San Diego's bullpen threw 4 1/3 scoreless innings as the Padres beat the NL East-leading Philadelphia Phillies 4-2 on Friday night. Adrian Morejon, added to the National League All-Star team earlier in the day, threw a perfect seventh, and fellow All-Star Robert Suarez a perfect ninth for his big league-leading 28th save. The Padres are the first team to have three relievers selected to the All-Star Game in the same season, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. With the Padres leading 3-2, Adam loaded the bases on a leadoff walk to Trea Turner and consecutive one-out singles by Bryce Harper and Alec Bohm. Nick

The Padres bullpen dominated MLB through their first 33 games of the season, posting a 1.68 ERA through 128.2 innings and preserving all 22 of the leads they were handed. Adam recalled closer Robert Suarez reminding him of the motto after Adam apologized for being unable to close out the eighth inning in a 3-2 win against the Pittsburgh Pirates May 30.

5/30/25 Padres Reliever Doesn't Make Excuse for Uncharacteristic Struggles in Loss. San Diego Padres relief pitcher Jason Adam took responsibility for his performance after Wednesday's 10-8 loss against the Miami Marlins. Adam came into the game with one out in the top of the seventh inning and got out of the inning cleanly, but fell apart in the top of the eighth. A lead-taking Gavin Sheets home run put Adam in position to receive a win, however, he didn't record an out in the eighth, plunking Connor Norby and seeing Nick Fortes reach safely following a Manny Machado error.

4/26/25 My Two Cents: Jason Adam Happy in San Diego, But 'Those Are My Best Friends' on Rays. Take the case of Jason Adam, for instance, one of the absolute good guys in baseball. The right-handed relief pitcher spent most of three seasons with the Tampa Bay Rays from 2022 to 2024. Adam had a chance to get reunited with his former teammates this weekend with the Rays visiting San Diego for a three-game set.

4/06/25 Padres Pitcher Not Worried About New Torpedo Bats Taking Over MLB. The San Diego Padres have a pitcher who seems to be unfazed by the recent topic taking over the baseball world: torpedo bats. Although this is leading to monster home runs, including a nine-home run outing from the New York Yankees, Jason Adam noted that there is an aspect to baseball that is among the hardest to do in professional sports.

3/12/25 Padres $4.8 Million Reliever on San Diego: 'Nowhere I'd Rather Be'. The San Diego Padres had Jason Adam and let him go. “I love looking back at the journey,” Adam said recently. San Diego first signed the reliever as a free agent in 2017, but he never made it past Double-A. He was released on Aug. 14 and signed with the Kansas City Royals days later. “He was an upside guy that we wanted in the organization that year,” president of baseball operations A.J. Preller recalled.
