7/28/25 Tigers have plan to get veteran Luke Jackson back in zone, missing more bats. Not the first impression he was hoping to make, for sure. Veteran reliever Luke Jackson, signed Saturday after being released by the Rangers, had himself a 48-hour stretch to forget. It started with the somewhat surprising news that he'd been released by the Rangers, then a 24-hour stomach bug that flat-out ruined a two-hour flight to Detroit and most of his first day as a Tiger. Then came the ninth inning Sunday and his Tigers debut.

7/27/25 Tigers Signing Relief Pitcher Luke Jackson Won't Fix Bullpen Woes. As the Detroit Tigers try to break out of their slump, they have recently made an addition to their bullpen. It has been a horrific stretch for the Tigers of late. In their first eight games out of the All-Star break, the team has won just one game against the Texas Rangers. Coming into the season, the main concern for Detroit figured to be its lineup.

7/26/25 Detroit Tigers sign ex-Texas Rangers RHP Luke Jackson to boost MLB bullpen. In 2025, Detroit Tigers reliever Luke Jackson has posted a 4.11 ERA with 19 walks and 24 strikeouts across 35 innings in 39 games for the Texas Rangers.

7/26/25 Texas A&M RHP signs with the Tampa Bay Rays after the 2025 MLB Draft. Former Aggie Luke Jackson signs with Tampa Bay Rays, skipping transfer to DBU for $500K deal after being selected in the 11th round of the MLB Draft.

7/09/25 Just when Texas Rangers' bats heat up, their usually reliable pitching, defense falters. Luke Jackson, ever an optimist in the rubble of defeat, offered a public relations masterpiece of a spin inside the Los Angeles Angels Stadium visitor's clubhouse Wednesday night. The Texas Rangers, after another crunch time loss in a crucial juncture of the season, have a ways to go before they can consider the playoffs. The Rangers blew three separate leads in an 11-8 miscue-laden loss to the Angels to extend a week-and-a-half long stretch of missed opportunities. Be the smartest Rangers fan.

6/07/25 DeGrom tosses 7 shutout innings to help Rangers snap a 4-game skid with a 5-0 win over Nationals. Luke Jackson and Chris Martin each pitched a scoreless inning to close it out. Sam Haggerty and Josh Jung singled off Nationals starter Mitchell Parker in the first inning. Semien drove in Haggerty with a single and Jung scored from first when the ball got by center fielder Robert Hassell III for an error.

5/15/25 Texas Rangers recall Cole Winn after RHP's stellar start to Triple-A season. Boushley, a 31-year-old who parlayed a decent spring training into an extended stay in the organization, threw 2 1/3 innings out of the bullpen in Wednesday's win vs. the Colorado Rockies. It left the Rangers' bullpen thin to start the series vs. the Astros as two high-leverage arms — closer Luke Jackson and setup man Chris Martin — continue to recover from injuries.

5/13/25 Rangers' Jackson exits after comebacker hits hand. Texas closer Luke Jackson took a 111-mph comeback liner off his pitching hand on the only pitch he threw after coming on in the ninth inning.

4/27/25 Explaining the inexplicable: How a 58 mph dribbler walked off the Texas Rangers. SAN FRANCISCO — Some games defy explanation. This one would have, too, if not for the brilliant mind of Luke Jackson. Still shaking his head 20 minutes after the Rangers suffered a 3-2 walkoff loss to San Francisco that ended on a bases-empty infield single and two throwing errors, Jackson decided to take a whirl at explaining what happened and this is what he came up with: “It was quite literally Lemony Snicket's series of unfortunate events,” he said, referencing the children's book series. “I threw one pitch, spent most of my time on the field on my back and we lost.” Related: Texas Rangers walk themselves off with defensive meltdown in ninth inning vs. Giants Rangers Be the smartest Rangers

4/05/25 The Texas Rangers' bullpen is on the older side, and that might not be a bad thing. It's new to the Texas Rangers but it's been around the block. “Are we?” right-handed pitcher Luke Jackson said Saturday morning inside the Globe Life Field clubhouse before he polled his nearby teammates of their ages. Be the smartest Rangers fan. The Rangers' eight-man bullpen is the third-oldest in baseball, at an average age of 31.6 years old, and the second-oldest in the American League behind only the New York Yankees.

3/27/25 Mulligan? Rangers' new-look bullpen would like one after opening day stumble vs. Red Sox. Luke Jackson would like a mulligan. The first meltdown of the reimagined and reconstructed Texas Rangers bullpen is worth a dive. Here are the ugly details: Jackson, a February signee who didn't allow a run all spring training and carved out a high-leverage role, gave up a go-ahead, three-run home run to right fielder Wilyer Abreu in the ninth inning of the Rangers' 5-2 opening day loss to the Boston Red Sox Thursday at Globe Life Field.

2/20/25 Luke Jackson can boost pay to $4 million in 1-year contract with Texas Rangers. The Rangers picked Jackson 45th overall in the 2010 amateur draft and the right-hander made his big league debut for them in 2015.

8/26/24 Brian Snitker Publicly Backs Luke Jackson, but Daysbel Hernández Stays Ready. The Atlanta Braves are in a dogfight for a spot in the National League playoff picture, and it is all hands on deck for manager Brian Snitker's club with just 32 games remaining in the regular season. The Braves have won their last-four series but have at least one head-scratching loss in each. This is not to say that the team is perfect, but a little fine-tuning of the roster (within reason) could help the Braves in close game situations. For example, when they faced the Washington Nationals this past Sunday, the two teams were tied one apiece, heading into the top of the seventh inning.

11/25/23 There's a Hoskins' shaped hole in my heart. With Harper coming to the plate during the Phillies' home opener in 2019, Braves' manager Brian Snitker decided the better of valor was loading the base and taking his chance pitting Luke Jackson against a young Rhys Hoskins. The crowd booed as Harper walked to first, denied a chance to hit in his Phillies' debut. Rhys ambled from the on-deck circle to the plate. In the broadcast booth, John Kruk mentioned this is why they talk about Hoskins having a chance to do real damage.

11/19/23 Player Review: Luke Jackson. It had been nearly 19 months since Luke Jackson had thrown a pitch in an MLB game when he debuted for the San Francisco Giants on May 31st of the 2023 season. A torn ligament in his throwing arm diagnosed in April 2022 meant he'd undergo Tommy John surgery and miss the entirety of his final season before free agency. Bullpen sessions in the Spring but the righty still wasn't ready and started the 2023 season on the 15-day IL, a designation quickly updated to the 60-day. After rehab assignments in San Jose and Sacramento, the long path of recovery finally arrived back at big leagues' doorstep at the end of May.

9/10/23 Inside the team meeting that SF Giants hope can propel them into the postseason. What can a team meeting accomplish? “I've always been against meetings,” Giants reliever Luke Jackson said before their series finale against the Rockies, ESPN's Sunday night game of the week. The latest, first reported by the San Francisco Chronicle, came Friday, before their first game against Colorado, and the message came from on high. President Farhan Zaidi was first to address the group, but speakers also included longtime coach Ron Wotus and a handful of veterans.

6/26/23 Giants injury updates. The Giants are positively cruising, even after dropping the series finale to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday. For the first few weeks of the season, we waited for the Giants to get healthy. The Giants made a move before Sunday's game, placing left-handed pitcher Luke Jackson on the 15-day IL, and recalling right-handed pitcher Ross Stripling.
