8/01/25 | Blue Jays put OF George Springer on concussion list. August 2 - The Toronto Blue Jays placed slugging outfielder George Springer on the 7-day concussion list Friday, four nights after he was hit in the head with a pitch. The move was made before Friday's game against the Kansas City Royals. It is retroactive to Tuesday. Springer was plunked by Orioles right-hander Kade Strowd during Monday's 11-4 loss to Baltimore. Springer was face down on the ground for more than a minute, but he remained alert before eventually being helped off the field. Springer, 35, is batting .291 with 18 homers and 57 RBIs in 101 games this season -- the four-time All-Star's best showing as a hitter since 2021. Toronto also activated center fielder Daulton Varsho (hamstring) Source: https://www.reuters.com/sports/blue-jays-put-georg... |
