7/29/25 Red Sox turn turbulent flight into latest in-game celebration and score much-needed win over Twins. At that moment, Rob Refsnyder, from one locker over, chimed in. Story said he noticed the plane wings when Ceddanne Rafaela did it after his third-inning triple, the start of a four-run rally against righthander Pierson Ohl. Rafaela said he was mirroring somebody who did the same the day prior. Duran said he didn't know anything until catching on Tuesday, then obliged as he rounded the bases following his homer — off the face of the second deck in center field — in the fifth.

7/25/25 Red Sox erase five-run deficit, beat Phillies in 11 innings to avoid sweep. Baseball has no shortage of unwritten rules, but among the most important is “don't give the opposing team extra outs.”The Philadelphia Phillies are a championship contender, but Wednesday they broke that rule and paid for it dearly.Leading the Red Sox by five runs in the top of the fifth, the Phillies should have gotten out of the inning unscathed when Rob Refsnyder hit a sky high pop-up behind… Premium Content is available to subscribers only. 7/23/25 Phillies' Cristopher Sánchez shows he has come a long way with a complete-game victory. As recently as two years ago, Cristopher Sánchez was a pitcher in transition, earning some major league time yet frequently shuttling between the Phillies and their Triple-A affiliate in the Lehigh Valley. The 28-year-old Sánchez showed his stuff again Tuesday night, pitching a four-hitter in a 4-1 victory over the Boston Red Sox in the 24th complete game in the majors this season. In the course of a 106-pitch gem, he allowed a fourth-inning home run to Rob Refsnyder and also struck out 12 and induced 13 ground-ball outs. While becoming a regular starter only late in the 2023 season, Sánchez wiped away his early career inconsistency and was an All-Star last season, and probably should have been one this season, too.

7/23/25 Phillies Cristopher Sánchez shows he has come a long way with a complete-game victory. He was also trying to establish himself, at both levels, as a starting pitcher, one who has now not only has shown an affinity for pitching for length, but pitching as effectively as anyone in baseball. 7/18/25 Red Sox Veteran Loves Boston, Open To Contract Talks. Rob Refsnyder has been a key piece for the Boston Red Sox in 2025. While his role isn't one of an everyday player, his contributions don't go unnoticed. Against left-handed pitching, he's hitting .292 with four home runs and 14 runs batted in. He's also walking in 13.8% of at-bats against righties, contributing to his 151 wRC+. Refsnyder is in the final year of his contract, but he'd love to stay in Boston longer. He told MassLive's Chris Cotillo that he's open to a contract extension. “I'm always open to (talks), but it is selfish thinking about yourself when you're right in the middle of chasing a wild card,” Refsnyder said. “I won't hide the fact that I love Boston. I've been very appreciative
