8/01/25 Minnesota Twins trade away nearly 40% of their roster in 9 deals before the deadline. The Minnesota Twins made their intention to sell this week clear when they traded starting pitcher Chris Paddack to the Detroit Tigers on Monday. During a tense week for all involved, players within the clubhouse wondered how much more was left to come and who would be remaining on the roster after the trade deadline had passed. Nobody could predict the stunning sell-off the Twins would undertake in the days to follow, one that culminated with a frenetic deadline day Thursday in which the front office executed seven trades. All told, the Twins made nine deals this week, sending out 10 major-league players, which represented nearly 40% of their roster.

7/31/25 Henning: Tigers parted with quality prospects in beefing up rotation, bullpen. Enrique Jimenez, Jim Jarvis, R.J. Sales, Josh Randall – a catcher, infielder, and two pitchers were expendable when the Tigers got four arms that already have been a benefit (Chris Paddack's start Wednesday) and figure to prop up a bullpen that needed multiple backups. This seemingly was smart front-office work by Scott Harris in avoiding paying heavy freight that a wildly wacky seller's market required if the Tigers were going to add a billboard reliever like David Bednar, or a right-handed power rental in Eugenio Suarez, who in November hits free agency.

7/31/25 Twins trading Harrison Bader to Phillies, Brock Stewart to Dodgers. The sell-off is well underway. After trading starting pitcher Chris Paddack to the Detroit Tigers on Monday and Jhoan Duran to the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday, the Twins swung two more trades Thursday afternoon, per reports. A day after finding a trading partner in the Phillies for Duran, the Twins and Phillies struck another deal with outfielder Harrison Bader headed to Philadelphia. ...

7/30/25 Twins blown out in final game before trade deadline. There's no telling what the Twins' roster might look like the next time the team takes the field. In between the end of Wednesday's game — a 13-1 loss to the Boston Red Sox that demonstrated why the Twins are in this position in the first place — and the Twins' next game on Friday night in Cleveland, Thursday's trade deadline will come and go. The Twins have already executed one deal, sending Chris Paddack to the Detroit Tigers, and are expected to make more before 5 p.m. CDT on Thursday. Speculation has been running rampant about a team that is now 51-57 trading off some of its veteran players, and it reached a fever pitch in the ninth inning of the blowout loss when Willi Castro, who had taken his position at second base, came off the field and was replaced before the inning started.

7/30/25 Tigers Among Favorites to Land Trade Deadline Superstar Eugenio Suarez. The Detroit Tigers are in a great position heading into the MLB trade deadline. With a 63-46 record, they have started to find their stride by utilizing their young core mixed with experienced veterans. However, the trade deadline provides them with a large opportunity to add even more to this core and become favorites in the American League. One of the most notable options on the market for them is Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Eugenio Suárez.
