6/15/25 Cardinals Outfielder Quietly Landed With NL Central Rival. A former member of the St. Louis Cardinals quietly landed in the division this week. The Cardinals designated outfielder Ryan Vilade for assignment on June 12th and it didn't take long for him to find a new home. The Cincinnati Reds quietly claimed him off waivers on Saturday, as shared by the team. Vilade appeared in just seven games for the Cardinals at the big league level this season.

Growing up in Frisco, Texas as the son of a former Rangers minor league coach, Ryan Vilade said he grew up attending Rangers games at their previous ballpark but had yet to see the new one that opened in 2020. “It was super-cool, especially to come back to Texas and play in front of all the friends and family," Vilade said on Sunday morning.
