7/29/25 | SF Giants drop fifth straight game as mistakes continue piling up. Heliot Ramos had no reason to drift away from second base. In the bottom of the first, with Willy Adames on first and Ramos on second, Matt Chapman skied a popup that went about 40 feet. Chapman was automatically out as the infield fly rule was called, and Pirates third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes let the ball fall to the grass instead of making the easy catch. The San Francisco Giants have had a strong start to their 2025 season at the Major League level, and much of it has been supplemented by their own prospects developing into crucial components of the franchise. Heliot Ramos, Casey Schmitt, Patrick Bailey, Logan Webb, Landen Roupp, Hayden Birdsong and many others were drafted by the team and are now a part of the starting group.
