8/02/25 | Danny Coulombe, Phil Maton introduce themselves to Texas Rangers with impressive displays. The two new Rangers relievers walked into the visitors' clubhouse Friday having to work through some potentially awkward introductions. Broke Josh Jung's wrist with a sinker last year. Be the smartest Rangers fan. Would have been a perfect introduction, too, had it not been for closer Robert Garcia allowing a two-run walkoff homer to J.P. Crawford in Seattle's 4-3 win. Coulombe and Maton worked the seventh and eighth innings of what had been a one-run lead deftly. Source: https://www.dallasnews.com/sports/rangers/2025/08/... |

7/21/25 | Rangers recall former All-Star 3B Josh Jung from Triple-A. Amid a slew of roster moves Monday, the Texas Rangers recalled third baseman Josh Jung, who was sent to Triple-A Round Rock earlier this month less than two years removed from being an All-Star selection. Jung was in an 8-for-58 slump (.138) when Texas optioned him July 2. At the time, Rangers president of baseball operations Chris Young said it was a "very tough" decisions that was ultimately best for both Jung and the organization. 7/19/25 | Rangers Boss Says Struggling Star Not Ready for Return to Majors Yet. The Texas Rangers made a flurry of moves leading up to Friday's game against the Detroit Tigers. None involved Josh Jung. The third baseman, who was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on July 2 to work on his swing and plate approach, is not ready to come back to the Rangers, at least in the opinion of manager Bruce Bochy and the organization. The clear sign was the decision to select the contract of infielder Cody Freeman on Friday — who was in Las Vegas to start the day — instead of recalling Jung, when the Rangers had to put outfielder Sam Haggerty on the 10-day injured list. 7/12/25 | Rangers Star Says 'It Sucks' When Talking About His Demotion. The Texas Rangers had to make a hard decision at the beginning of July featuring Josh Jung. After being a star prospect and becoming a key part of the franchise winning their first World Series championship in 2023, his career has become marred by injury and poor performance. A fractured wrist after he was hit by a pitch caused him to miss all but 46 games, with his absence being a major reason why the Rangers weren't able to defend their title. Unfortunately, things devolved to the point where Texas had no choice but to option Jung on July 2, with his .164/.205/.216 slash line in the last 30 days before his demotion producing the second lowest OPS in the Majors during the month of June.
