7/26/25 The crazy hitting stat that explains the Blue Jays' incredible surge up the standings. The Toronto Blue Jays have the best record in baseball. Consider this statistic: Since May 28, when they were eight games back in the AL East, every hitter on the Blue Jays has been at or above league average. The stat weighted runs created-plus measures offensive productivity on a scale in which 100 equates to league average, and each bump up (101, 102, etc.) means an additional percent better than league average. Then you've got the incredible breakout season of Addison Barger and the impressive growth of Ernie Clement.
