| 7/02/25 | Tigers place starting pitcher on injured list amid doubleheader roster shuffle. The Detroit Tigers placed right-handed starting pitcher Sawyer Gipson-Long on the 15-day injured list with neck stiffness before Wednesday's doubleheader in Washington. Right-hander Tyler Owens was recalled from Triple-A Toledo to take his spot on the roster. It was one of a flurry of moves on Wednesday. The Tigers also added left-handed reliever Bailey Horn as the 27th man for the doubleheader and formally placed outfielder Kerry Carpenter on the injured list with a right hamstring strain. Shortstop Trey Sweeney was recalled from Toledo to take his place. There are likely to be more changes on the horizon.
