7/28/25 | Red Sox promote two promising arms to Triple-A after strong performances in Portland. Two of the top pitching prospects in the Red Sox system are en route to Worcester after strong performances at Double-A Portland. The Sox have informed left-hander Connelly Early and right-hander David Sandlin that they have been promoted to Triple-A ahead of this week's series against Lehigh Valley. Double-A left-hander Payton Tolle is considered the best pitching prospect in Boston's system but Early and Sandlin are part of a second tier that also includes southpaw Brandon Clarke, righty Juan Valera and rehabbing righty Luis Perales. The Boston Red Sox need to whittle their roster down to 26 players before Opening Day, and on March 7, the team announced its first round of spring training cuts.
