8/01/25 | Giants Injury Update: Cam Skattebo, Thomas Fidone II Leave Friday's Practice Early. The New York Giants returned to padded practices on Friday with a mostly promising injury/absence outlook that took a concerning turn. Rookie running back Cam Skattebo, who had been sidelined for the last two practices, returned for the start of Friday's session, but midway through, he left the field with a trainer, walking off under his own power, looking frustrated. Skattebo missed most of the spring workouts with an undisclosed ailment, so it's unknown if what caused him to miss some sessions so far this summer and force him off the field early on Friday are all related. Coming into camp, Fidone had a bit more of an uphill battle to make the 53-man roster if the Giants planned on running it back with Theo Johnson, Daniel Bellinger, and Chris Manhertz, with Fidone likely a practice squad candidate. 8/01/25 | NY Giants Tight Ends Have Been Invisible in This Key Area. The NFL has proven time and again that the proper use of players at the tight end position can work wonders for an offense, particularly in the red zone. The reasons for that seem head-scratching, particularly when considering the size advantage most tight ends have in terms of making a contested catch over a smaller defender. Last year, the Giants tight ends went 10 of 12 (83.3%) on contested catches, and yet when it came to the red zone, they were only targeted four times (one each for Theo Johnson, Daniel Bellinger, Chris Manhertz and Greg Dulcich), the tight ends coming up with two receptions (50%) and one touchdown. 7/25/25 | Theo Johnson Ready for Bigger Role in NY Giants Offense. New York Giants tight end Theo Johnson is ready for his second NFL campaign. “Yeah, I think that I can step into a bigger role this year and add a little bit more value than I did last year,” the former Penn State standout said after Friday's practice. Before suffering a season-ending foot injury on Thanksgiving, Johnson, who had quietly moved into the TE1 role for the Giants, was just starting to get into a groove, which kicked into gear around Week 5 when he caught all five of his pass targets. From that point on, the coaches put more on Johnson's plates, giving him longer and more challenging routes to run, as well as blocking responsibilities.
