7/22/25 Angels Provide Unfortunate Christian Moore Injury Update. Christian Moore, the Los Angeles Angels' first-round draft selection from last year, made his MLB debut almost exactly one calendar year after hearing his name called as the No. 8 overall pick in the draft. After collecting just one hit (a triple at his first trip to Yankee Stadium, at that) across his first five games in the show, Moore would start to figure things out, collecting eight RBIs in his next 13 games. After spraining his thumb diving for a ball on July 2, Moore made his way to the injured list and has remained there for about three weeks. The 22-year-old, perhaps in a somewhat naive manner, was confident that he would be healed in two weeks, although acting manager Ray Montgomery was quick to say that that was perhaps a little optimistic.

7/19/25 Angels Manager Has Unfortunate Christian Moore Injury Update. Los Angeles Angels interim manager Ray Montgomery provided a concerning update on second baseman Christian Moore's sprained thumb, stating there is nothing new in his progress. “I wish there was more to report,” Montgomery said. “Just time.” Moore injured his thumb diving for a ball on July 2 against the Atlanta Braves and landed on the 10-day injured list the day after. The rookie had just begun to find his stride in MLB, as he had raised his batting average from .077 to .200 in two weeks at the end of June.

7/19/25 MLB Insider Makes Bold Predictions for Angels' Draft Pick in 2025. The Los Angeles Angels have a philosophy few around the sport utilize. While player development can vary in terms of how players best prepare themselves for the big leagues, the Halos would rather promote promising prospects to the show as early as possible rather than have them toiling around the minor leagues for years. In recent years, the likes of Christian Moore, Zach Neto, and Nolan Schanuel have all been promoted to the top level of professional baseball with less than a year in the minors. For some like Schanuel, he made his debut with the Angels less than two months after he was drafted.

7/07/25 Angels' Christian Moore, Manager Don't Seem to Agree on Return Timeline. Los Angeles Angels rookie Christian Moore landed on the 10-day injured list with a sprained thumb and is hoping to be back in a couple weeks, however interim manager Ray Montgomery believes it may take longer than that. Montgomery avoided giving a timetable for Moore's return, and hinted that two weeks may be the "best-case scenario." Moore sustained the sprain while diving for a ground ball against the Atlanta Braves last Wednesday.
