6/19/25 | Former Tigers outfielder signs deal with Diamondbacks. Former Detroit Tigers outfielder Anthony Gose, now a journeyman left-handed pitcher, has signed a minor-league deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Gose had been in the New York Mets organization and was either released or exercised an opt-out clause in recent days. A second-round draft pick in 2008, Gose was once a promising outfield prospect before reinventing himself as a pitcher. The Tigers acquired Gose from the Toronto Blue Jays after the 2014 season, and he spent all of 2015 as the club's primary center fielder. 6/17/25 | Report: Diamondbacks Sign Former Mets Reliever. The Arizona Diamondbacks have signed left-handed veteran reliever Anthony Gose, according to The New York Post's Jon Heyman on X. At the time of this report, it is unclear whether it is a major- or minor-league signing, though it is most likely the latter. Gose, 34, has only seen three seasons' worth of MLB action in his somewhat lengthy career. After beginning his baseball journey as an outfielder, he eventually converted to a relief pitcher. 3/14/25 | Tom Brennan: Go-Go Gose; and the Butler Did It!. Anthony Gose was once a major league hitter who hit .240 for Toronto in roughly 1,200 plate appearances. What a versatile reliever he could be for the Mets, if he sharpens up enough to have lots of MLB time this year. THE BUTLER DID IT! Source: http://macksmets.blogspot.com/2025/03/tom-brennan-... |
