7/17/25 Padres All-Star Calls Clayton Kershaw 'The Best in The Game'. San Diego Padres reliever Jason Adam is a bit older than your typical first-time All-Star. At 33, his relief appearance in Tuesday's All-Star Game in Atlanta marked the culmination of 952.1 innings pitched across six levels of professional baseball since 2011. Less than two months after Adam's first start for the Class-A Kane County Cougars, Clayton Kershaw made his first appearance for the National League in MLB's Midsummer Classic.

San Diego Padres All-Star relief pitcher Jason Adam revealed he nearly retired due to injuries, and spoke about his struggles dealing with them. Adam had four surgeries on his throwing elbow before even making it to the big leagues, and nearly retired after the third one.

7/12/25 Padres All-Star Admits First Trade Was 'Super Jarring'. San Diego Padres All-Star relief pitcher Jason Adam reflected on the first time he was traded in the minor leagues and how shocked he was by the decision. The Royals drafted Adam, a native of the greater Kansas City area, in the 2010 MLB draft. After promoting him to Triple-A, they dealt him to the Minnesota Twins for veteran Josh Willingham in the final year of his MLB career.

All-Star reliever Jason Adam got out of a bases-loaded jam in the eighth inning, and San Diego's bullpen threw 4 1/3 scoreless innings as the Padres beat the NL East-leading Philadelphia Phillies 4-2 on Friday night. Adrian Morejon, added to the National League All-Star team earlier in the day, threw a perfect seventh, and fellow All-Star Robert Suarez a perfect ninth for his big league-leading 28th save. The Padres are the first team to have three relievers selected to the All-Star Game in the same season, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.
