7/31/25 Texas Rangers exit trade deadline with a thud against Mariners as woes in Seattle continue. They changed the name of this lovely stadium with the rolling roof and the open air spaces from Safeco Field to T-Mobile Park in 2019. Where the Rangers are concerned, though, it might as well have become the Little Shop of Horrors, presented, of course by T-Mobile. In a 6-0 loss, the Rangers allowed two runs to score on pitches that got away from catcher Kyle Higashioka (one ruled a wild pitch, the other a passed ball), allowed a homer hit so hard the metrics only said “interstellar,” and, of course, didn't do anything offensively. Be the smartest Rangers fan.

7/22/25 Texas Rangers catcher Kyle Higashioka's hot stretch halted by hamstring issue. Texas Rangers catcher Kyle Higashioka exited Tuesday's game vs. the Athletics at Globe Life Field with hamstring tightness and will be reevaluated Wednesday. Higashioka's hamstring tightened up after he hit a two-out single in the bottom of the seventh inning during Tuesday's 6-2 win. “I didn't really think that much of it,” Higashioka said. “But then running from first to second [on a Josh Smith single], it was not so great.”

7/20/25 Hot bat of Kyle Higashioka forcing shift in Rangers' catching dynamic. Has there been a change to the Rangers' catching hierarchy? Kyle Higashioka seems to be making a case for one. Higashioka began Sunday's game with a career-high seven-game hitting streak, during which he has gone 10 for 27 (.370). Be the smartest Rangers fan.

7/19/25 Texas Rangers DH Kyle Higashioka almost put out twice by Detroit Tigers All-Stars in strange sequence. Texas designated hitter Kyle Higashioka was almost put out twice by All-Star players from the Detroit Tigers in a strange sequence in the third inning of the Rangers' 2-0 win Friday night. Higashioka first reached base on a one-out single, a sinking liner that American League starting left fielder Riley Greene had in his glove after a sliding play on the ball that was ruled to have hit the ground. Tigers manager A.J. Hinch challenged, but the safe call stood after a lengthy replay review.
