Eli Manning (QB - NYG)

2-Time Super Bowl Champ Is Rooting For Saints QB Tyler Shough. It sounds like Tyler Shough already has some fans around the National Football League. Shough has been a part of the New Orleans Saints' organization for just a few months, but he's already doing the little things right. Shough impressed in mandatory minicamp and OTAs and has now been practicing on his own time with playmakers from the team in order to get ready for training camp. The second-round pick also has impressed two-time Super Bowl champion Eli Manning, as shared by The Times-Picayune's Matthew Paras.

Arizona Cardinals (DEF - ARI)

Arizona Cardinals Took Massive Risk With Offseason Strategy. Few teams went into the offseason and did more work to improve their defense than the Arizona Cardinals did. A unit that overachieved based on their personnel still needed upgrades to all three levels of the defense, and the Cardinals did exactly that. Among their biggest moves were free agent signings of Josh Sweat, Calais Campbell, Dalvin Tomlinson, and Akeem Davis-Gaither. The Cardinals also spent six of their seven draft picks from the 2025 NFL Draft on defense, highlighted by first-rounder Walter Nolen and second-rounder Will Johnson.

Carolina Panthers (DEF - CAR)

7/3/25 11:00 AM -
ESPN ranks 3 former Panthers DBs best picks ever at their NFL draft slots. The consensus seems to be that the Carolina Panthers dramatically overpaid their secondary this offseason. Jaycee Horn's megadeal has consistently been ranked among the worst in the league at his position, Mike Jackson got a pretty handsome pay-day given his experience and Tre'Von Moehrig is the biggest overpay of any safety in the NFL, according to some analysts. There is some truth to those claims, but the unfortunate fact is that Carolina has to offer potential free agents more money than their competitors - and even that isn't enough sometimes - as we learned from the team's failed pursuit of Jaire Alexander. The only way to break out of this cycle is to start winning games and making better draft picks to build a long-term contender that's better suited to compete thanks to contributions from players on cheap rookie contracts.

Letting Josh Jacobs go was a mistake, and replacing him in the aggregate with Zamir White and Alexander Mattison was a poor choice by former general manager Tom Telesco. Not to mention, the offensive line has another year of experience under its belt, the passing game is more of a threat, and offensive coordinator Chip Kelly is a savant in the run game. Jeanty has drawn praise from almost every player and coach on the roster, and Mostert is the consummate professional with gas still in the tank.

Saints' Tyler Shough Addresses Potential Distraction. Will the New Orleans Saints start a rookie at quarterback in Week 1 action in 2025? That only will happen if Tyler Shough can win the starting job from Spencer Rattler and Jake Haener. It sounds like he's doing everything possible to put himself in a position to do so. He recently took part in a throwing with a good chunk of the playmakers on the roster, per NewOrleans.Football's Nick Underhill. "Many of the Saints receivers worked in Beaverton the last two days with Tyler Shough, Jake Haener and Hunter Dekkers. Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed, Cooks, etc. were all there," Underhill said. Texans Veteran Wideout's Price Tag Draws National Criticism. As they say, the NFL is a business, which means every team's business decisions are up for criticism. Year after year, the NFL's free agency frenzy sees players across the league get grossly overpaid. Bleacher Report recently highlighted the league's most overpaid players at each position, and unfortunately, the Houston Texans found one of their players on that list: wide receiver Christian Kirk. Of course, it's not the Texans who signed Kirk to the deal he's currently playing under.

2 way-too-early 2026 NFL Draft prospects Green Bay Packers must monitor. Green Bay fans have plenty of reasons to feel optimistic after 2024. Jordan Love silenced many critics with a strong sophomore campaign as a full-time starter, and Matt LaFleur reestablished himself as one of the league's steadiest sideline generals. In addition, the Packers marched to double-digit wins for the first time in three seasons. Green Bay didn't just beat up on bad teams.

Colts Must Address Thin Defensive Area. The Colts have their established veterans (DeForest Buckner, Grover Stewart, and Kenny Moore II), new additions (Charvarius Ward and Camryn Bynum), and young talents (Laiatu Latu, Jaylon Jones, and Nick Cross), which gives Anarumo plenty to work with in 2025. However, Indianapolis has one area of their roster that has a question mark despite having a Pro Bowler in the room; that spot is linebacker, and Bleacher Report discusses this in Alex Ballentine's breakdown on the 'best and worst' case scenarios for Indy's stop troops.

Every team doesn't need a backup quarterback that can ball out like a starter, but rather someone who can also be a strong mentor, teacher, coach and teammate. The Commanders have that with Jayden Daniels and Marcus Mariota, and the latter explained how special Washington's starting quarterback can be in his second season.

It's not expected to be a championship season in New Orleans, but stacking as many wins as possible under first-year head coach Kellen Moore is a worthy goal. The Saints signed a few veterans up and down the roster, but they still have one noteworthy hole on defense. Marshon Lattimore's departure last season via trade left a talent gap at cornerback.

It's pretty rare to see a team completely overhaul their offense in one offseason, but the Raiders did it, and it was much needed after averaging just 18.2 points per game in 2024. Sweat, who inked a four-year, $76.4 million contract this offseason to emerge as Arizona's premier pass rusher, was a force with his former team in the Philadelphia Eagles.

Why Dayo Odeyingbo's Chicago Bears debut looks a little less difficult. Edge rusher Dayo Odeyingbo could have anticipated a very difficult debut at Soldier Field come Monday night, Sept. 8. After his rookie year of 2021, Darrisaw graded out as the second-, eighth- and 11th-best tackle in the NFL. It looked like a devastating injury for the Vikings at the time but they were able to trade for Jacksonville's Cam Robinson as a replacement. The problem for Minnesota is Robinson signed as a free agent with the Houston Texans.

New Stat Highlights How Evan Engram Will Supercharge Broncos' Offense. It's no secret that the Denver Broncos' tight end group delivered lackluster production in 2024. By looking at the tight ends' stats and box scores, one can see that those players provided little support to the Broncos' offense. First, let us examine where the Broncos' tight ends really failed the team: on third down. The position has become a third-down difference-maker in the NFL over the past 15 years, but that was not the case for the 2024 Broncos.

"Just because a player was the best at the position last year, it doesn't mean we've seen the best they've to offer. That should seem extremely clear in the case of Brock Bowers. Bowers scored more points than any other tight end in 2024. I expect him to be even better in Year 2," Cummings said. "Why am I so much higher on Bowers? This Position Group Named Giants' Biggest Question Mark Ahead of Training Camp. When an NFL franchise's quarterback situation has been in such dire straits for as long as the New York Giants' room has, it's understandable for those on the outside to doubt that anything will be different with the position as the 2025 season is right around the corner. For the first time in a long while, the Giants arsenal of gunslingers appears to be in the best shape it's been since the team saw their two-time Super Bowl MVP and legendary arm Eli Manning hang up the cleats for retirement at the end of the 2019 campaign. Through six mostly grueling seasons, the Giants tried to make it work with Daniel Jones as the heir apparent to the helm, but nagging injuries and a habit of poor decision-making in the pocket would mar his tenure in the Big Apple. The franchise would need to take a drastic turn to get back on the right track, which led to several significant moves at the quarterback position.

Sincere McCormick was a glimmer of hope for the Silver and Black, but he got hurt toward the end of the season and is far from a proven commodity.

A couple of very important moves that may have flown under the radar for Tennessee were the signings of veteran offensive linemen Kevin Zeitler at guard and Dan Moore at left tackle.

The Top 100 Plays of the First Quarter of the Century: 1-5. Setting the stage: It has been a while since the Dolphins won a playoff game, more than 20 years to be precise, and that long-ago victory was the result — more than anything else — of a heroic performance by running back Lamar Smith. While the defense did a good job of limiting the damage of Peyton Manning, Edgerrin James, Marvin Harrison and company, the offseason acquisition rushed for 209 yards and put the perfect exclamation point on the greatest rushing performance in team history on Dec. 30, 2000. The play: The Dolphins got the game to overtime when they scored a touchdown in the final minute on a pass from Jay Fiedler to tight end Jed Weaver, which was followed by the Colts' curious decision to just run the ball after beginning the ensuing drive at their 20 with 28 seconds left and all three timeouts in their possession — again, with Peyton Manning leading the offense.

However, moving forward, here is the Packers' most fierce positional battle to watch during the 2025 training camp. In 14 games, he accounted for 36 total tackles, two tackles for loss and only half a sack. As it turns out, there's another layer: The possible reason Stewart didn't sign standard injury waivers like other unsigned draft picks around the league and practice with his team is due to Cincinnati's participation agreement.

Malik Nabers (WR - NYG)

7/2/25 12:00 AM -
NY Giants WR corps ranks towards bottom of the league. Despite having had one of the top young receivers last season in Malik Nabers, it was not enough in the eyes of Pro Football Focus to give the New York Giants receivers (including tight ends and running backs) a ranking better than 24th. Despite Nabers' 1,000-yard season, the rest of the Giants pass catchers–running back Tyrone Tracy Jr., tight end Theo Johnson, and receiver Wan'Dale Robinson, Darius Slayton, and Jalin Hyatt–contributed to the league's 29th-ranked receiving attack with a 67.1 receiving grade, Nabers the only Giants receiver to earn a single-season receiving grade higher than 67.0.
