8/28/25 Former Cardinals pitcher struggles in Brewers debut after second release of 2025. The St. Louis Cardinals are not a postseason contender in 2025, as they moved on from multiple veteran pitchers at the trade deadline. While the three relievers took the headlines, the Cardinals also dealt one of their pitchers. After initially designating him for assignment, the Cardinals eventually found a trade partner for starting pitcher Erick Fedde. Finally, he was designated for assignment for a second time in 2025 before the Milwaukee Brewers picked him up to play a long-relief role for the team.

8/20/25 Recent White Sox Trade Acquisition Hits 20th Home Run In Minor Leagues. A three-team trade in July of 2024 always represented a long-term play for the White Sox. The St. Louis Cardinals have found themselves in no-man's land just over a year later, sitting five games out of the playoffs and with Erick Fedde and Tommy Pham having joined different organizations. Just one player the White Sox acquired in the trade has made his Major League debut, Miguel Vargas, who's slashing .231/.307/.397 with 13 home runs this season.

8/15/25 Cardinals Strike Gold; Find St. Louis' Next Potential Ace. The St. Louis Cardinals are currently undergoing a bit of a roster reconstruction. They're transitioning from a roster loaded with older veterans like Erick Fedde, Phil Maton, and Steven Matz to a team that's set to hand the keys to prospects in the coming years. They've already begun this transformation, headlined by the three big trades made at the deadline to send Maton, Matz, and Ryan Helsley to contending teams. The Cardinals also cleared a spot in the starting rotation by trading Fedde to the Atlanta Braves. Miranda Remaklus of Redbird Rants recently highlighted 25-year-old pitcher Michael McGreevy as somebody who was making the most of the opportunities given to him in this rebuilding

7/29/25 Erick Fedde Set to Make Braves Debut. The Atlanta Braves have been struggling immensely with pitching this year, from unsatisfactory performances to injuries, and have been scrambling at the deadline to find new talent to drag the team's season out of the mud. Monday, Erick Fedde was acquired by the Braves in a trade with the Cardinals in exchange for a player to be named later or cash. The former Cardinal has had something of a difficult season with a 3-10 record and 5.22 ERA, though he's certainly looking to change things around with his new club. The very next day, the Braves announced that Fedde would be pitching in his first full day as a Brave, in a 6:40 matchup against the Royals.

7/24/25 Cardinals' Next DFA Candidate Is Painfully Obvious. The St. Louis Cardinals recently made the tough decision to designate veteran pitcher Erick Fedde for assignment during a tough stretch of starts. This move goes to show the Cardinals are seemingly ready to be proactive rather than reactive at the trade deadline. Since Fedde wasn't making the team better, the Cardinals got rid of him, which is a stark contrast to what's seemingly expected at the big-league level. The next DFA candidate is painfully obvious for the Cardinals.
