With the regular season nearing a close, it sounds like outfielder Anthony Santander could be making a return from injury soon. Reports indicate that Santander, who turns 31 years old in October, will possibly play his first Triple-A rehab assignment on Tuesday, September 9, according to Keegan Matheson of MLB.com. Anthony Santander, who has been out of the lineup since late May due to a shoulder injury, is closing in on a return. In fact, the 30-year-old slugger could begin a rehab stint with Triple-A Buffalo as soon as Tuesday, as per Sportsnet's Arden Zwelling. Outfielder Anthony Santander, who's been sidelined since May 29th with left shoulder inflammation, is progressing in his rehab and is now set to rejoin the club in Miami during the upcoming series against the Miami Marlins. As the Baltimore Orioles continue to try and find some bright spots down the stretch, they have to be regretting some of their offseason decisions that led them to this point. This past offseason, the Orioles knew that they were going to have two of their top players hitting free agency. Both Anthony Santander and Corbin Burnes ended up signing elsewhere during the offseason, and while both are hurt with their new teams, their production with Baltimore in 2024 was significant. The Toronto Blue Jays have been one of the hottest teams in baseball over the last few weeks, winning 12 out of their last 14 games. This current hot streak is bad news for some franchises around the MLB because it means the Blue Jays will likely not be sellers ahead of the MLB trade deadline.
