Which is why it's so easy to tie them to Ashton Jeanty with the sixth overall pick in the draft, to the point it's feeling possible they pass on him and wait to draft a running back from a deep class at the position. It's also fair to say the Raiders are in a shade of win-now mode with Pete Carroll as head coach. The Raiders did sign Raheem Mostert, but he's hardly an adequate solution for the team's starting job. With them being so high in the draft, they have many players to choose from. The player they are most linked to before the NFL draft is Ashton Jeanty, which makes the most sense as he's most likely not getting picked in the top five, and he'd be the next-best prospect available. At this point, it almost feels like a guarantee that he'll be rocking the Silver and Black next season for his NFL debut. The Las Vegas Raiders are signing veteran running back Raheem Mostert to a one-year, $1.2 million contract, according to multiple reports on Thursday. The free agent is reunited with the Raiders' new offensive coordinator Chip Kelly, who was the head coach in San Francisco in 2016 when Mostert played for the 49ers. Kelly also was the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles when Mostert was briefly on the practice squad in 2015. The Miami Dolphins released Mostert, who turns 33 in April, in February and saved $2.9 million in salary cap space. Mostert joined Miami in 2022 and enjoyed his finest season in 2023, rushing for 1,012 yards and leading the NFL with 21 touchdowns from scrimmage. As San Francisco continues to part with key players on both sides of the ball, it could turn to one former player for veteran depth. Former 49ers running back Raheem Mostert joined NFL Network's "Free Agency Frenzy" on Tuesday and revealed that San Francisco has reached out this offseason about a possible reunion.
