5/07/25 Buccaneers praised for keeping veterans in free agency. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers still employ several players from their Super Bowl champion team, and those players help establish the culture of the franchise. Two of those players were up for new contracts this offseason, and the Bucs had reason to not bring either of them back — yet the team opted to bring the veterans back on new deals. CBS Sports writer Tyler Sullivan listed keeping wide receiver Chris Godwin and linebacker Lavonte David as reasons for optimism for the Buccaneers this offseason. "The Buccaneers were able to keep two key core pieces intact this offseason," Sullivan wrote.

4/22/25 The Entire History of the Buccaneers' Third-Round Draft Picks. NOTE: This article was originally published in April of 2023 and has been updated to include the results of subsequent drafts. In the 87 years that NFL teams have been conducting a college draft, there have only been 25 players selected in the third round of the NFL draft who ended up in the Pro Football Hall of Fame (so far, at least). The Tampa Bay Buccaneers once found two of them in the span of 60 months. The Buccaneers have made 51 picks in the third round of their first 49 college drafts, and many of them have worked out very well. From the versatile Charley Hannah way back in 1997 to Mark Carrier a decade later, to Chris Godwin, Jamel Dean and Yaya Diaby of more recent vintage. The Bucs

4/18/25 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2025 NFL Mock Draft. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers head into the 2025 NFL Draft in a familiar position—retooling, not rebuilding. With a battle-tested locker room and a front office known for uncovering draft-day gems, the Buccaneers are well-equipped to fortify their roster. The Buccaneers made a statement by locking in wideout Chris Godwin on a three-year deal. When healthy, Godwin remains a reliable weapon.

4/10/25 Who will the Buccaneers use as trade bait around the NFL draft?. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' offense was a high-flying machine in 2024 as they were one of the top units in the league in many statistical categories. The Bucs will run their whole starting offense back in 2025 with Chris Godwin and Ben Bredeson each re-signing with the team, but they will be without their former offensive coordinator Liam Coen, who jetted off to become a head coach. The Bucs decided to replace Coen with an in-house hire in Josh Grizzard, and he will look to pick up where Coen left off while implementing his nuances into the scheme. Tampa Bay is sitting pretty on the offensive side of the ball, but that doesn't mean that they are done there, as both Jason Licht and Todd Bowles have gone on record saying that an offensive pick early in the upcoming NFL draft isn't outside of the question despite bigger needs on defense.

4/10/25 Buccaneers Potential Draft Targets And Best Fits: Quarterback. The NFL Draft is right around the corner, and the Buccaneers have put themselves in a great position entering draft weekend. This offseason, the team got off to a fast start in free agency. Before the legal tampering period began, the Bucs had re-signed Lavonte David and Ben Bredeson, and as the clock struck noon, the team had deals done with Chris Godwin and Haason Reddick.

4/08/25 Buccaneers reportedly met with leading wide receiver prospect on Tuesday. Coming into this offseason, there was some skepticism that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would be able to keep veteran wide receiver Chris Godwin, who has been one of their top playmaking threats since he joined them as a rookie in 2017. With roughly two weeks to go before the NFL draft, the franchise was reportedly scheduled to meet with Matthew Golden, one of the top wide receiver prospects this year, on Tuesday.

4/08/25 New ESPN mock draft has Patriots selecting 'explosive' weapon for Drake Maye. After striking out early in free agency on Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin, the New England Patriots finally landed a big-name target for second-year quarterback Drake Maye in the form of Stefon Diggs. In a receiving room that was previously led by youngsters Demario Douglas and Kayshon Boutte, Diggs will give the position group immediate credibility and be a valuable veteran presence for the developing Maye.

4/03/25 Buccaneers have restructured one of their stars' contracts for salary cap savings. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers started off this offseason's free agency period by retaining key veterans Chris Godwin and Lavonte David, and they later brought in pass rusher Haason Reddick, linebacker Anthony Walker, cornerback Kindle Vildor and offensive lineman Charlie Heck. While there aren't any impact players remaining in free agency right now -- other than perhaps Aaron Rodgers -- the Buccaneers will want to think ahead and position themselves to continue to add meaningful pieces to their roster in order to climb the ladder in the NFC.

4/01/25 Will Chris Godwin Be Available For Week 1?. In just under 23 weeks, the Bucs will kick off the 2025 season. But will Chris Godwin be ready to go for the team's season opener? The veteran wide receiver signed a three-year, $66 million contract to remain in Tampa Bay this offseason, but he's still coming off a dislocated ankle that he suffered

3/27/25 Bucs Improved During Free Agency – But By How Much?. The Bucs have made plenty of moves to keep them in a position to do damage in the NFC South last season. 3/26/25 Patriots Just Made the Perfect Move. The New England Patriots pulled off the move everyone has been waiting for. After a free agency period filled with splash signing after splash signing, the missing piece seemed to be a wide receiver. After trying to land Chris Godwin and DK Metcalf, and ultimately failing, the Patriots were running out of options. Maye now has a target he knows will always be open.

3/25/25 NFL free agency 2025: Where the Buccaneers' roster stands. Free agency is in the rearview, and it's full steam ahead toward the draft for the Bucs. Chris Godwin and Ben Bredeson return to the fold, keeping continuity on the offensive side of the ball, while Lavonte David will lace up his cleats for another season as well. The Bucs attacked perhaps their biggest weakness out of the gate by signing pass rusher Haason Reddick to a one-year deal. The hope is Reddick can return to a form that saw him notch four double-digit sack seasons in a row.
