Ryan gave up six runs over five innings — 11 total runs in back-to-back starts ties his career high, something that hadn't happened since 2023 — but Wallner's second home run closed the gap to 6-4. But Brooks Kriske relieved Ryan in the sixth inning and walked two batters to load the bases. With two outs, Nathan Lukes doubled home two more and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. singled home two more.

8/06/25 Twins Land Former Yankees Pitcher. A former New York Yankees pitcher landed with a new team on Tuesday. Per MLB's transaction log , the Minnesota Twins claimed right-handed reliever Brooks Kriske off waivers from the Chicago Cubs. Kriske signed a minor league contract with the Cubs in November 2024. He logged a 6.75 ERA over 5 1/3 innings in Cactus League action during spring training and began the season with the Iowa Cubs, the organization's Triple-A Affiliate. Chicago recalled Kriske on May 24, and he threw two scoreless innings against the Cincinnati Reds that day before getting designated for assignment on May 29. After clearing waivers, Kriske was outrighted to Triple-A. His contract was later selected by the Cubs on July

8/05/25 Cubs Recently Waived Pitcher Brooks Kriske ClaimedBy AL Central Team Off Waivers. The Chicago Cubs designated right-handed pitched Brooks Kriske for assignment following their acquisition of Michael Soroka from the Washington Nationals ahead of the MLB trade deadline. It was the second time that Kirske was designated for assignment by the Cubs, but this time, he will not be returning to the organizaton. Five relievers; Jhoan Duran, Griffin Jax, Danny Coulombe, Louis Varland and Brock Stewart, were all traded away by the Twins.

5/29/25 Left-hander Génesis Cabrera agrees to 1-year deal with the Cubs. The Chicago Cubs agreed to a one-year contract with former New York Mets left-hander Génesis Cabrera on Thursday and designated right-hander Brooks Kriske for assignment. Cabrera, 28, had a 3.52 ERA and threw seven strikeouts across 7 2/3 innings and seven games of relief for the Mets this year. Cabrera, who is from the Dominican Republic, also had has stints with the St. Louis Cardinals and the Toronto Blue Jays, is 17-14 with a 3.88 ERA in seven major league seasons.

11/29/24 Chicago Cubs Sign Journeyman Free Agent Right-Handed Pitcher. The Chicago Cubs have made a transaction in free agency. According to a post from his personal social media accounts, right-handed pitcher Brooks Kriske has inked a deal with the Cubs that will likely be in the minor leagues, although, there has not been an official announcement from the team. As Kriske said in his post, he grew up as a fan of Chicago, but was selected in the sixth round of the 2016 MLB draft by the New York Yankees. Suffering an injury that required Tommy John surgery, Kriske missed his first entire season, but he recovered and began to quickly climb the minor league ladder.
