8/31/23 New Eagles TE Albert Okwuegbunam proves preseason matters for those who seize the moment. Last Saturday, Albert Okwuegbunam put together a preseason performance that got the attention of the Eagles' brain trust. The 25-year-old tight end was vying for a spot on the Denver Broncos roster in their preseason finale against the Los Angeles Rams. In the 41-0 rout, Okwuegbunam flashed some upside with seven catches for 109 yards and a touchdown. As good as his production was that evening, the way in which he achieved it was what inspired Eagles general manager Howie Roseman to offer Denver a late-round pick swap Tuesday in order to get Okwuegbunam before the tight end was waived.

8/28/23 Okwuegbunam, McLaughlin help the Broncos rout the mistake-prone Rams 41-0 in preseason finale. DENVER | His teammates serenaded tight end Albert Okwuegbunam after he played the starring role in the Denver Broncos' 41-0 blowout of the Los Angeles Rams in the teams' preseason closer Saturday night. “One thing about this profession is you don't get to pick when you get opportunities, but you get to pick when you take advantage of them,” Okwuegbunam said after catching seven passes in eight targets for 109 yards and a TD. The capper was a one-handed, 20-yard grab on fourth down that set up Denver's final TD. “He's a monster,” said undrafted rookie running back Jaleel McLaughlin, who scored his fourth touchdown of the preseason in his most extensive action yet.

After catching five of six targets for 33 yards in the Broncos' narrow loss to Seattle in Week 1, the third-year tight end saw a total of just five targets until Week 17. Inactive for seven consecutive games, Okwuegbunam watched from the sidelines as Denver's offense worked to find a rhythm. 1/08/23 Rosburg factor: Albert Okwuegbunam getting his chance. All players, even the best of them, have run into coaches who didn’t click with them. Problem is, even if coaches aren’t smart enough to see how the good in a player outweighs the bad, the coach has the power. Take the case of Broncos’ third-year tight end Albert Okwuegbunam.

1/02/23 Broncos stock report: Montrell Washington's offseason takes on increased significance. Stock Up TE Albert Okwuegbunam The third-year tight end had played a total of 18 offensive snaps since Week 4 but found himself back in the gameplan with Greg Dulcich injured and interim head coach Jerry Rosburg in charge. It wasn’t all pretty for Okwuegbunam – he had a pair of drops against the Chiefs – but he played the most snaps among the Broncos’ tight ends, led the team with 45 receiving yards, and reeled in a touchdown from Russell Wilson in the third quarter.
