3/03/25 | Everson Pereira showing Yankees he 'definitely can factor in'. Yankees outfielder prospect Everson Pereira had two hits in three at-bats during Sunday's blowout loss to the Braves, raising his Grapefruit League average to .333. AP By Randy Miller | NJ Advance Media for NJ.com NORTH PORT, Fla. — Sunday's travel roster for the Yankees was very unusual with a bunch of starters bussing 80 miles south of Tampa for Grapefruit League reps against the Braves. The Yankees wouldn't dare put captain Aaron Judge through a March day like this, but it was surprising seeing veterans Paul Goldschmidt and Cody Bellinger on the trip. Jasson Dominguez, Oswaldo Cabrera and Austin Wells were in the lineup, too. 2/23/25 | Yankees use ABS challenge system to keep an inning going, then score 3 runs against Toronto. Changing one ball to a strike can completely alter an inning. Saturday was proof of that, when the New York Yankees used the Automated Ball-Strike System to turn a strikeout into a walk, then went on to score three runs in the top of the sixth against Toronto. The ABS is being tested during major league spring training after years of experiments in the minors. New York's Everson Pereira was initially called out on strikes on a full count for what would have been the third out of the sixth. Source: https://www.wbng.com/2025/02/24/yankees-use-abs-ch... |

2/02/25 | Yankees 'really excited' about former top prospect, but does he fit on roster?. Everson Pereira's journey back from elbow surgery is complete. The outfield prospect's next hurdle will be climbing his way up on the Yankees' depth chart. Yankees manager Aaron Boone confirmed this week — in an interview with Brandon Tierney and Sal Licata on WFAN — that the slugging prospect is healthy and ready to go leading up to spring training. “Pereira, who I'm really excited about, is back this year,” Boone said while speaking about his club's outfield alignment. 12/04/24 | Yankees, Mets get extra option year on Everson Pereira, Max Kranick. The Yankees made a key acquisition already this offseason when outfielder Everson Pereira was among those who received an additional fourth minor league option, The Post has learned. Players typically have three minor league options — basically three seasons in which they can be sent down from the majors without being subjected to waivers. But in some cases often involving stretches of missed time due to injury, a player who has amassed less than five full pro seasons (minors and majors combined) can become eligible for a fourth option. Pereira fell into that category and received a fourth option as did another Yankee farmhand, infielder Jorbit Vivas, and Mets minor league pitcher Max Kranick. 5/23/24 | How Yankees' slugging prospect is trying to swing his way back into playing time picture. Before Everson Pereira's first taste of big-league action ended last fall, Yankees manager Aaron Boone gave the outfield prospect some tough love. Boone noted that success in the majors ultimately comes down to taking advantage of pitches that you can do damage on, something Pereira was unable to accomplish in his 27 games with the big-league club. Starting the season as arguably a top-three team in baseball, the Yankees will certainly be looking to improve the roster. 3/02/24 | Facing steep climb to Yankees' roster, Everson Pereira takes 'big step'. In a game where Everson Pereira swatted a home run to the parking lot beyond the left-field wall at Steinbrenner Field, a two-strike take by the rookie outfielder was what had Yankees manager Aaron Boone most enthused. On the very next pitch, Pereira pounced on another curve — this time, a spinning hanger right down the middle — and sent a 406-foot blast into the Tampa night. “Tonight was a big step for him” Boone said. 10/14/23 | Assessing the outlooks for the Yankees' 25-and-under crowd with offseason evaluations underway. More than a month before the Yankees' 2023 season came to a premature end, the team turned its attention toward the future. The Bombers truly started focusing on their youth on Aug. 22, when Everson Pereira and Oswald Peraza were promoted. The Yankees are hoping that that young group includes a few future stars and contributors. Domínguez looked the part of the Yankees' future center fielder, but they'll need someone else in that position at the start of 2024. Source: https://www.nydailynews.com/2023/10/14/assessing-y... |
9/14/23 | What Yankees can learn from prospect's slow start since promotion. With the way Everson Pereira was raking in Triple-A, the Yankees prospect was poised to hit the ground running after his well-deserved promotion to the big-league club last month. All Pereira needed to do was rein in his aggressive approach, continuing to make improvements with swing selection to let his tools take over while adjusting to Major League pitching. It's still a small sample, but after 21 games, Pereira has looked overmatched in a Yankees uniform. The outfielder struck out two more times in Game 1 of Thursday's doubleheader, an uninspiring 5-0 loss to the Red Sox at Fenway Park. Source: https://www.nj.com/yankees/2023/09/what-yankees-ca... |
9/05/23 | Yankees prospect Will Warren is trending towards MLB consideration. The Yankees have called up Everson Pereira, Oswald Peraza, Jasson Domínguez and Austin Wells in recent days/weeks. While the Yankees can't guarantee him a rotation spot in what is left of the 2023 campaign for reasons that we will explain in a bit, right-hander Will Warren is trending towards making his MLB debut at some point in September. Warren, a 2021 draftee (eighth round) threw 123.1 Double-A innings between 2022 and 2023: he had a 4.02 ERA in 94 frames there last year, but made adjustments and improved that to a 2.45 ERA in 29.1 innings this season with a much better 32.2 percent strikeout rate (it was 20.6 percent in 2022 at the mentioned level).
