According to a report from Anne Rogers of MLB.com , right-handed pitcher Carlos Hernandez was picked up by the Philadelphia Phillies after Kansas City placed him, Nick Pratto and Nelson Velazquez on outright waivers. Pratto and Velazquez cleared waivers and have been moved to Triple-A Omaha. With the moves, the Royals cleared three spots on their 40-man roster.
