11/16/23	New Orleans Saints sign fullback Adam Prentice to practice squad. Prentice, 6-0, 245 pounds, was originally signed by Denver as a free agent following the 2021 NFL Draft out of South Carolina and spent the preseason with the Broncos before being awarded to the Saints off of waivers at the start of the regular season. In the past three seasons, Prentice has played in 24 games with six starts and has carried eight times for 19 yards, caught six passes for 25 yards and made five special teams tackles. The New Orleans Saints opened the 21-day window for fullback Adam Prentice to return from injured reserve after he missed the last four games with an MCL injury. Prentice participated in Saints practice Wednesday afternoon wearing a heavy knee brace. The Saints never signed a fullback to replace him on the roster, filling his snaps in a variety of ways — including using defensive tackle Khalen Saunders near the goal line. As defensive end Josh Sweat laid injured on the field just six minutes into the Eagles' second-to-last game of the season against the New Orleans Saints after tackling fullback Adam Prentice, an all-too-familiar thought crept into his mind — I might have to be out. Sweat instantly worried that his impending playoff participation was in jeopardy once again. Last season, just five days before the Eagles' NFC wild-card game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Sweat underwent an emergency procedure to address what the team called a “life-threatening situation” that caused him to miss the postseason. “To work this whole season with them and then just not be able to be out there,” Sweat said. Eagles defensive end Josh Sweat was carted off the field with a neck injury in the first quarter of Sunday's 20-10 loss to the New Orleans Saints after crashing into fullback Adam Prentice headfirst while making a tackle. He was transported to the hospital for further evaluation but will be released Sunday night, the team said. Sweat has movement in all of his extremities, according to the team.
