6/27/25 Ryan Noda's misplay in first right-field appearance with White Sox looms large in loss to Giants. Ryan Noda's first outfield appearance with the White Sox could have gone better. Noda, who has only appeared at first base or as the designated hitter since joining the Sox earlier this month, played nine games in right field during his first two major league seasons, both with the Athletics.

6/24/25 Chicago White Sox held to 3 hits — including a home run by Luis Robert Jr. — in 4-1 loss to Arizona Diamondbacks. Ryan Noda appeared to have his second home run as a member of the Chicago White Sox. But Arizona Diamondbacks right fielder Jake McCarthy jumped at the wall and made a spectacular catch in the second inning Tuesday at Rate Field. Two pitches later, Luis Robert Jr. made sure no one could reach his long fly as he drilled a home run that reached the Sox bullpen beyond the left-field wall. That ...

6/17/25 White Sox take flyer on Fox Lake product Ryan Noda at first base: 'It's a dream'. A whirlwind month for freshly arrived first baseman Ryan Noda put him through the business-side wringer of baseball, only to see him realize a boyhood dream. Noda grew up a White Sox fan in northwest suburban Fox Lake, graduating from Grant Community High School in 2014. The Sox picked him up last week off waivers from Boston, putting him in line for regular playing time at first in the wake of Andrew Vaughn's trade to the Milwaukee Brewers and Tim Elko's demotion to Triple-A Charlotte. The glove-first journeyman went hitless in his first two games with the Sox over the weekend in Texas, and while he was on the bench Tuesday, he relished his first home game with his hometown team.

Taylor, the replacement in center, in the eighth spot. Robert is hitting just .194 but had at least one hit in each of the first five games of Chicago's road trip, going 7-of-19 with 2 doubles, a home run and 4 RBIs.

6/13/25 Boston Red Sox lose first baseman on waivers to White Sox. The Red Sox lost some first base depth on Friday with Ryan Noda being claimed off waivers by the White Sox. (AP Photo/Ross D. Franklin) AP By Christopher Smith | csmith@masslive.com BOSTON — The Red Sox lost some first base depth Friday as Ryan Noda was claimed off waivers by the White Sox. Boston designated Noda, a 29-year-old first baseman/outfielder, for assignment Monday to make room on the 40-man roster for top prospect Roman Anthony . The White Sox needed to add first base depth after trading first baseman Andrew Vaughn to the Brewers for pitcher Aaron Civale on Friday morning. Boston initially acquired Noda from the Angels for cash considerations May 22 . He spent his entire time in the

6/02/25 3 reliever targets for the Red Sox if they're buyers at the trade deadline. The Boston Red Sox have struggled lately. With injuries to both corner infielders taking their toll on the lineup and defense, Boston has been looking for answers both internally and beyond (calling up utility players and trading for Ryan Noda from the Angels) to cover first. Third base duties look to fall largely upon the talents of super-youngster Marcelo Mayer, a call up that could upset the roster balance for a number of other players. The Sox's pitching core is also standing on shaky ground, as Boston has consistently let one-run games slip through its fingers this season.

5/23/25 Red Sox trade pitch lands ex-Yankees star to force Rafael Devers decision. The Boston Red Sox traded for a first baseman, but Ryan Noda likely isn't the answer to that position after the season-ending injury to Triston Casas. The real answer seems to still be getting Rafael Devers to move from DH to learn a new position. But what if, instead, Boston added a low-risk trade option who used to play for the Yankees that will give them a few different routes to solving the first base conundrum? MLB.com's Mark Feinsand suggested this week that ex-Yankee catcher Gary Sanchez is a trade candidate. Sanchez is part of an Orioles team that might be the biggest underachievers of the season so far. 3/03/25 Ryan Noda looks for bounce-back to win spot on Angels bench. Ryan Noda is Exhibit A of the latter. After putting up impressive numbers in the minors in 2021 and 2022 and a strong debut in the majors in 2023, Noda and the Oakland A's collaborated on a changed approach that failed miserably. “I think it took about 70 at-bats until realizing it wasn't going to work,” said Noda, who is now in camp with the Angels. Noda, 28, is a left-handed hitting first baseman with the prototypical three-true-outcomes approach.

11/05/24 Former Dodgers Infielder Joins Angels as Offseason Gets Underway. The Los Angeles Angels announced that they have claimed former Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Ryan Noda off waivers from the Oakland Athletics. Noda, 28, was selected as a Rule 5 pick from the Dodgers organization in 2022 and spent the entire 2023 season with the Athletics. Initially, this choice appeared to be a smart move, as Noda quickly established himself as a reliable on-base threat. During his time with the A's, he posted a slash line of .229/.364/.406, demonstrating his ability to get on base by walking in an impressive 15.6 percent of his plate appearances.
