7/28/25 Giants place Bryce Ford-Wheaton on injured reserve after torn Achilles tendon, sign Gunner Olszewski. Veteran wide receiver Gunner Olzsewski, a special teams standout, was signed to take Ford-Wheaton's spot on the roster. The 25-year-old Ford-Wheaton, in his third season with the Giants, went down Sunday on a play in which there was no contact.

7/28/25 New York Giants receiver 'devastated' as torn Achilles ends season. New York Giants wide receiver Bryce Ford-Wheaton has unfortunately been through this before, but it does not make the pain of going down with a serious Achilles injury once more any less gut-wrenching. Ford-Wheaton suffered a torn Achilles during Sunday's practice, the second time in his trio of NFL seasons a serious leg injury has sidelined him for the year before Week 1. Over the weekend, Ford-Wheaton appeared to suffer the injury in non-contact fashion, hitting the turf during an offensive snap. The former West Virginia standout tore his ACL in August 2023, missing all of his rookie season.

7/27/25 Giants lose special teams ace to season-ending injury for 2nd time in 3 years. Just three years into his career, Bryce Ford-Wheaton just seems like a player who cannot catch a break. Two years after missing his entire rookie season with a torn ACL, the New York Giants' special teams ace suffered a brutal torn Achilles in 2025 training camp. After being carted off with a towel over his head, Ford-Wheaton's injury is believed to be a season-ending torn Achilles, according to Dan Duggan of 'The Athletic.' Ford-Wheaton surprisingly went undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft but was quickly scooped up by the Giants as an undrafted free agent.

6/08/25 New York Giants Training Camp Preview: WR Bryce Ford-Wheaton. When the New York Giants added former West Virginia wide receiver Bryce Ford-Wheaton back in 2023, they liked him so much that they included over $230,000 in guaranteed money in his otherwise standard three-year UDFA deal. Throughout training camp that season, he appeared poised to pay dividends immediately, utilizing his blend of elite size and speed to become an immediate standout on special teams. Unfortunately, his 2023 season was over before it began when he suffered a torn ACL in a preseason game and was placed on IR for the season. As a redshirt freshman, he played in 11 games, catching 12 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns.

NFL coaches always emphasize how it takes all three phases — offense, defense and special teams — to win games. Giants safety Isaiah Simmons blocked the potential tying field goal in the final minute and Bryce Ford-Wheaton returned it 60 yards for the clinching touchdown, helping underdog New York hold on for a 29-20 win at Seattle.

9/05/24 How Advertsity Helped Shape Giants WR Bryce Ford-Wheaton's NFL Journey. In the blink of an eye, or in this case, the snap of an ACL suffered early in his first NFL training camp, New York Giants wide receiver Bryce Ford-Wheaton saw his NFL future flash before his eyes. Despite ideal size and measurables and a strong showing at the 2023 NFL combine, Ford-Wheaton went undrafted last year, a major knock against him being 18 career dropped passes in five seasons for the Mountaineers. Undeterred, Ford-Wheaton signed with the Giants, hoping to earn a spot on the roster as a special teams contributor and a spot receiver.

8/29/24 Practice Report: Bryce Ford-Wheaton 'happy to get the opportunity'. Bryce Ford-Wheaton was never as happy to be ignored as he was when he arrived at the Giants' headquarters Tuesday morning. The first-year wide receiver saw personnel staffers waiting to intercept the players who were about to learn from coach Brian Daboll they were being released. "I was definitely a little nervous coming in here," Ford-Wheaton said today after practice. Ford-Wheaton had indeed earned a spot on the 53-man roster, the latest installment in an ongoing inspiring story.

8/28/24 Receiver Bryce Ford-Wheaton Makes a Request of Giants Fans. New York Giants wide receiver Bryce Ford-Wheaton, who appears to have made the initial 53-man roster after missing last year with an Achille injury, has a simple request for Giants fans who have been reaching out to him with a “suggestion” regarding his summer training camp jersey number. Giants fans itching to buy the jersey of first-round draft pick Malik Nabers have been patiently awaiting official word as to what the rookie will wear this season (and it won't be No.9, which Nabers shared with kicker Graham Gano). The early favorite seems to be 18, previously worn by Isaiah Hodgins, who did not make the 53-man roster, but Nabers' new jersey number might not be known until next week as the dust continues to settle on the roster.

8/02/24 Giants' Josh Ezeudu carted off, 3 others injured during Friday's practice. It was a scorcher on Friday in East Rutherford with the heat index soaring above 100, but that didn't stop the New York Giants, who adorned full pads for the third time this summer. Ezeudu was seen limping before the cart came out to pick him up but given the heat and dew point, it's possible he was just cramping up. The heat also got to center Austin Schlottmann, who briefly left the field while vomiting, as well as wide receiver Bryce Ford-Wheaton. Meanwhile, three other Giants also went down with injuries, including tight end Jack Stoll, who appeared to suffer a knee injury.

6/07/24 New York Giants 2024 Training Camp Preview: WR Bryce Ford-Wheaton. New York Giants wide receiver Bryce Ford-Wheaton has had a chip on his shoulder from the moment he arrived in East Rutherford. An undrafted free agent out of West Virginia who was projected to go within the league's seven rounds, Ford-Wheaton signed with the Giants on May 5, 2023, with the chance to make the roster as a big, lengthy downfield threat. Ford-Wheaton spent his entire rookie year away from the team as he rehabbed from his injury and is now returning with a hunger to make the active roster for the first time at the NFL level. It won't be easy given the number of players the Giants have at the wideout position, but a player of his caliber is what the team has lacked in recent seasons, and that could benefit him.
