8/04/25 'Fighting to prove they're big leaguers': How struggling Cardinals glimpse lineup's 'identity'. The eighth batter of the ninth inning, Victor Scott II came to the plate knowing that if he could find a way on base, the Cardinals would bring the tying run up at the end of another trying day offensively. Against San Diego Padres closer Robert Suarez, Scott simplified his approach: hunt the fastball, meet it with a direct swing and aim up the middle. “I kind of had this feeling I was going to get up and be able to make a day out of something that was a tough go at the plate,” Scott said. “That's the game I need to play.”

6/21/25 Cardinals Might Cut Ties With $55.8 Million All-Star In Dodgers Trade. The St. Louis Cardinals and Los Angeles Dodgers might become trade partners before July 31. While the Cardinals have experienced a surprise resurgence in 2025, they're not real contenders, and any moves they make should be geared toward building a brighter future around guys like Victor Scott II and Masyn Winn. Meanwhile, the Dodgers are obviously trying to win now and establish a dynasty in Major League Baseball. To do so, LA will have to reach another World Series in 2025, but they're pitching staff continues to betray that goal by getting injured.

Nick Mears got three outs in the sixth, but Willson Contreras singled against Aaron Ashby leading off the seventh for St. Louis’ first hit. 6/02/25 Should Cardinals Cut Ties With 'Expendable' Specialist?. The St. Louis Cardinals made a big decision before the 2025 Major League Baseball season kicked off. St. Louis had a position battle in center field. After a red-hot spring, Victor Scott II won the jump and has performed above expectations in the regular season so far. 5/25/25 Cardinals Speedster Emerging Into Star Before Our Eyes. The St. Louis Cardinals have a lot of productive young players on their team right now, but none are more surprising as a breakout player than center fielder Victor Scott II. Last season, to put it kindly, Scott wasn't great. Scott was a good, not great defender and a solid baserunner, but he didn't get on base enough to warrant a spot in the lineup. There's a chance Scott could post a .750 OPS and steal upward of 35 bases this season.

5/14/25 Cardinals Speedster Quietly Has Made Himself Irreplaceable. There have been a lot of decisions made by the St. Louis Cardinals that have raised some questions over the last few years. The Cardinals made the decision to keep Victor Scott II on the big league roster after a big Spring Training. Although he was the best player in camp in the center field battle, there was still buzz that the team would opt to roll with Michael Siani instead. Scott also has been one of the better defensive center fielders in the National League as well.
