8/09/25 Bills preseason notebook: The Tyrell Shavers hype train is picking up steam once again. ORCHARD PARK — Tyrell Shavers has one NFL target to his name. Just one. In three games. But it was a 69-yard catch-and-run touchdown during a late-season win over the New York Jets. Forget the previous two games in which he played just 22 snaps, that touchdown was the confidence booster Shavers needed to move forward with the Buffalo Bills. Shavers opened the preseason with an 11-yard catch ...

8/08/25 Sean McDermott, Joe Brady use same word when evaluating Bills' WR fighting for job. Tyrell Shavers has essentially been the last man out on roster cutdown day the past two years. The rejection, however, hasn't stopped the undrafted wide receiver from chasing a roster spot with the Buffalo Bills again this summer, and he's making it near impossible for anyone to overlook him. After spending two seasons on the Bills' practice squad, and making three appearances as a gameday elevation in 2024, Shavers is attacking his third NFL training camp and making the case to be Buffalo's WR6. Despite injuring his ankle, and leaving on a cart, during Practice No. 4, he missed minimal time and has earned increased admiration from his head coach and offensive coordinator.

1/01/25 Bills' Tyrell Shavers on his first NFL TD: 'If I touch the ball, I got to make a play'. Tyrell Shavers returned to work this week for the Buffalo Bills as a member of the practice squad. Unless the NFL team signs the wide receiver to its 53-man active roster, Shavers can't play again this season. After playing 32 offensive snaps and catching one pass in two seasons on the Bills' roster, there's no guarantee Shavers will play in another NFL game.

8/07/24 OC Joe Brady loves everything about breakout Bills TE. Training camp provides NFL fans the annual opportunity to fall in love with overlooked and previously unnoticed players, a natural occurrence given that everybody loves a good underdog story. The Buffalo faithful have a penchant for idolizing training camp standouts, and 2024's camp features no shortage of such players; sophomore wideout Tyrell Shavers has perhaps been the most discussed under-the-radar player thus far, but a fourth-year tight end has, too, received his fair share of praise. Zach Davidson has been oft-discussed throughout camp, flashing several times with big plays in the passing game. It's difficult to miss Davidson when he's on the field—he is 6-foot-7, 250 pounds, after all—but he, to this point in his professional career, hasn't even been on the field in a regular season game; the 26-year-old, who was selected in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings, was waived ahead of his rookie season and spent his debut campaign on the Vikings' practice squad.

8/03/24 Wide receiver with 1 catch at Alabama impresses Bills coach. In three seasons at Alabama, wide receiver Tyrell Shavers had one reception and scored a touchdown on a blocked punt. After a redshirt year, he played in 28 games in 2018 and 2019 before transferring to Mississippi State.

7/30/24 Bills OC says breakout training camp WR has 'made the most of' his opportunities. If you weren't familiar with Tyrell Shavers' name at the start of the Buffalo Bills' 2024 training camp, you certainly are now. The 24-year-old, who spent his rookie campaign on Buffalo's practice squad after going unselected in the 2023 NFL Draft, has rapidly evolved from 'roster long-shot' to 'legitimate roster contender;' given his 6-foot-4 frame, potential offensive upside, and ability as a special teams gunner, Shavers may prove to be too intriguing of a developmental piece to leave off the 53-man unit this season.
