2/20/24 Lucas Giolito Shares Texts From Liam Hendriks After Red Sox Deal. Red Sox newcomer Lucas Giolito received a very pleasant surprise Monday morning. As Giolito was suiting up to take the JetBlue Park field for Boston's latest spring training workout, he received a text from Liam Hendriks. Hendriks' connection with Giolito dates back to January 2021 when the pair of right-handers became teammates with the Chicago White Sox. Giolito and Hendriks now are set to wear the same jersey again, as the Red Sox on Monday reportedly agreed to a two-year deal with the three-time All-Star.
2/18/24 Lucas Giolito on changing Sox — from White to Red — and why things went south in Chicago. Former White Sox pitcher Lucas Giolito has an idea for a documentary — an ESPN “30 for 30,” perhaps — on the recent rise and fall of the team for which he went 59-52 with a 4.20 ERA in 162 starts over six-plus years. On a rainy Sunday at Red Sox camp, Giolito laughed at his sudden brainstorm, which, truth be told, included a different S-word than “stuff.” The 29-year-old righthander has had a Sox change, having signed a two-year, $38.5 million contract that includes a $19 million player option for 2025. In between, he pitched for the Angels and Guardians after being traded from the South Side with fellow starter Reynaldo Lopez for prospects just before the 2023 deadline.
2/15/24 Red Sox, Twins begin Spring Training workouts. There are four words that diehard baseball fans look forward to each year: pitchers and catchers report. The Red Sox hope the addition of free agent right-hander Lucas Giolito will help bolster their pitching rotation while the Twins added Anthony DeSclefani in a trade to help make up for the loss of American League Cy Young Award runner-up Sonny Gray and 2020 American League Cy Young runner-up Kenta Maeda.

Red Sox Seen As 'Solid Fit' For Veteran Starting Pitcher After Solid Season Could Boston end up landing the veteran pitcher this offseason? Author: Patrick McAvoy Publish date: Feb 14, 2024 11:34 AM EST In this story: Boston Red Sox Chicago White Sox It would be very surprising if the Boston Red Sox didn't add at least one more starting pitcher. Even after adding Lucas Giolito, Boston's rotation still is the club's biggest question mark. The Red Sox traded away Chris Sale and needs to add at least one more hurler before the 2024 season comes around. Luckily for the club, there still are some interesting players available. There are top-tier options available like Blake Snell and
2/12/24 Several Teams Are Pursuing Ex-Mets, Dodgers Fireballer; Could Red Sox Be One?. Several Teams Are Pursuing Ex-Mets, Dodgers Fireballer; Could Red Sox Be One? Boston could use the fireballer to help the starting rotation Author: Patrick McAvoy Publish date: Feb 12, 2024 10:54 AM EST In this story: Boston Red Sox New York Mets The Boston Red Sox still are looking for pitching as Spring Training quickly approaches. Boston added Lucas Giolito to the mix earlier this offseason but still could use another hurler. Landing someone like Jordan Montgomery would be the perfect option, but it's unclear if he is a possibility at this point. The Red Sox are more likely to sign a depth option with upside to a cheap contract. One player who could make a lot of sense is former New York
