3/22/25 | Jankowski among those in waiting game as Opening Day approaches. Travis Jankowski opted out of Cubs camp when he was left off the travel roster for Japan and hooked up with the White Sox right away, having played under Will Venable when the Sox manager was on Bruce Bochy's staff in Texas. With Opening Day drawing near, Jankow-ski waits, like so many others in Sox camp and camps everywhere, to know where he'll be March 27, when the Sox host the Angels at Rate Field. There is uncertainty with Andrew Benintendi (hand) and Austin Slater (oblique) coming back from injuries. Source: https://chicago.suntimes.com/white-sox/2025/03/22/... |

3/12/25 | Travis Jankowski opts out of Cubs deal to sign minor league contract with White Sox. Outfielder Travis Jankowski agreed to a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday after opting out a minor league deal with the Cubs. Jankowksi signed with the Cubs on Feb. 24 after spending the past two seasons in Texas, where he won a World Series with the Rangers in 2023 as their fourth outfielder. The 33-year-old hit .263 with 30 RBIs in 2023 and gave the Rangers some solid defense in the outfield during their World Series run, but his average dropped to .200 with 12 RBIs in 104 games last season. 2/28/25 | 3 Texas Rangers observations: New sluggers are mashing, Cody Bradford's tidy outing. Travis Jankowski strolled up toward home plate, received a nice round of applause from the Surprise Stadium faithful and nearly beat out an infield single on a groundball he hit back to former teammate Marcus Semien. Jankowski, a beloved former Ranger who played in Texas for two seasons and helped win the club's first championship, signed a minor league deal with the Chicago Cubs last week and played his ex-teammates for the first time Friday. In his second at bat, vs. Jack Leiter, he was rung up on a called strike three but had it overturned via an Automated Ball-Strike system challenge. Call it the Jankowski revenge game.
