7/05/24 Mariners look to build on win, host Blue Jays. A day after shortstop J.P. Crawford and first baseman Ty France walked through the clubhouse burning a couple of bundles of sage to "cleanse" each teammate's locker, the Seattle Mariners' offense finally ignited. Crawford's three-run double with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning Thursday broke a tie as the American League West-leading Mariners snapped a four-game skid with a 7-3 victory against visiting Baltimore. Seattle will open a three-game home series with 1977 expansion brethren Toronto on Friday night. Julio Rodriguez snapped out of a 3-for-38 slump with a double and a homer, and Mitch Garver also went deep for the Mariners, who were limited to one run on seven hits in losing the first two games of the series to the AL East-leading Orioles.

7/04/24 Julio Rodríguez homers, J.P. Crawford drives in three and Mariners beat Orioles 7-3 to avoid sweep. Julio Rodríguez homered for the first time since June 15 and doubled, J.P. Crawford lined a tiebreaking three-run double, and the Seattle Mariners beat the Baltimore Orioles 7-3 on Thursday to avoid a three-game sweep. Seattle’s slumping offense broke out in a big way and it was the Mariners' best player leading the charge. Mired in a slump at the plate, Rodríguez hit an 0-2 pitch from Baltimore ace Corbin Burnes an estimated 428 feet to center field in the fifth inning to pull Seattle to 2-1.

5/20/24 Mariners crack Top 10 in MLB power rankings. The Mariners just faced one of the best teams in baseball, salvaging one win over the three-game series in Baltimore and largely looking outmatched in the other two. Now, they head to New York to face the best team (record-wise) in the American League for four games. As of Monday morning, they sit 1.5 games up on the second-place Rangers, who are doing the Mariners a big favor and scuffling badly at the moment. The Mariners should get some help in New York, with the expected returns of J.P. Crawford and Jorge Polanco to solidify the infield and deepen the lineup.

5/19/24 Mariners notebook: Polanco tests hamstring; Crawford nearing return. The Mariners infield could return to full strength this week as J.P. Crawford and Jorge Polanco could both be back in the lineup soon.
