8/21/25 Rays' Yandy Diaz gets encouraging injury update from Kevin Cash. The Tampa Bay Rays fell 7-4 to the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday night at Steinbrenner Field, but the biggest development wasn't on the scoreboard. Yandy Diaz, the team's most consistent offensive threat, left in the fifth inning after injuring his right leg. Postgame, manager Kevin Cash described the hamstring injury as “low-grade,” offering a rare note of optimism in a season trending the opposite direction. Diaz had just delivered his second hit of the night when he reached for the back of his leg while running out a single.

With Tampa Bay Rays Yandy Diaz at the plate, he sent a long fly ball in Lee's direction. Then, Lee closed his legs and trapped the ball between his knees in a show of uncanny concentration. The play left the crowd amazed, and the Giants' broadcast team in awe of what they had just witnessed.

8/02/25 Diaz Homers Twice, Rasmussen Looks Like Ace in Rays' 4-0 Shutout of Dodgers. It's a hazy, faded memory, but the best version of the Tampa Bay Rays was clearly visible on Saturday in a wildly impressive 4-0 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Rays got two home runs from Yandy Diaz, including one to lead off the first inning, and Drew Rasmussen pitched 5 1/3 scoreless innings as Tampa Bay knocked off the defending world champions on Saturday at Steinbrenner Field. The win featured lights-out starting pitching that you would expect from an ace, terrific work from the bullpen, timely longballs and great defense.
