6/09/24 Injured Philadelphia Phillies Slugger Hints At Impending Return. The monitoring of the recovery of injured Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Trea Turner took a bit of a back seat as the team was in London for the MLB International Series with the New York Mets. reported on Sunday that both Turner and the Phillies "wouldn't be surprised" if the veteran shortstop returned sometime in the next week. Turner said "we're getting close" when asked about a return. Manager Rob Thomson said that Turner is about "75-80 percent" on the basepaths, and for one of the best base stealers in the game that's a big deal.

6/06/24 Phillies Star Shortstop Wants to Set 'Precedent for Many Years to Come'. Trea Turner and the Philadelphia Phillies have found plenty of success this season. Turner, who hasn't played since May 3, is expected to be back in the near future. When the two-time All-Star was playing, he showed Phillies fans why they signed him to a lucrative 11-year, $300 million contract. 44-19 on the season and eight games ahead in the National League East, Philadelphia is doing exactly what people thought they would be heading into the season.
6/04/24 Philadelphia Phillies Star Outfielder Looking to Return from IL Quickly. The Philadelphia Phillies have largely enjoyed a clean bill of health so far this season. Outside of Taijaun Walker starting out the year on the injured list and Trea Turner missing extended time with a strained hamstring, one of the main reasons why the Phillies have dominated is because all of their other main contributors have constantly been in the lineup. Placed on the 10-day injured list, he'll likely be sideline for a couple weeks as Philadelphia looks to maintain their stranglehold on the NL East. This will cause them to shift some things around in their outfield, a unit who has largely struggled at the plate offensively this season.
5/30/24 Is Philadelphia Phillies Slumping Slugger Turning Things Around?. The Philadelphia Phillies have had a better start to the year than anyone in baseball. With the best record in the MLB, they have given themselves the luxury of having one of their star players like Trea Turner pick up an injury, having a couple of their starting pitchers and relievers work through certain struggles, and for one of their star sluggers to go through an extended slump. It's been a different start to this campaign for Nick Castellanos compared to last year when he was the Phillies' best hitter and earned himself an All-Star selection. The slugger is currently slashing .208/.271/.333 with seven homers, 12 extra-base hits, and 24 RBI through 57 contests.
