5/20/24 Padres pregame: Taking aim at a series win in doubleheader against Braves.

Padres throwing Dylan Cease and Randy Vasquez in Monday's doubleheader against the Braves' Reynaldo Lopez and Chris Sale

5/20/24 Deadspin | Padres hope to make another statement on road vs. Braves. The San Diego Padres will try to win a road series against the Atlanta Braves for the fourth straight year when the two clubs complete a four-game series with a doubleheader on Monday. San Diego has won the first two games of the series, prevailing 3-1 on Friday and 9-1 on Sunday. It took three games during a four-game set with host Atlanta in 2023 after going 2-1 vs. the Braves at their place in each of the previous two seasons. Dylan Cease (5-3, 2.45 ERA) can help the Padres secure the series win when he goes up against fellow right-hander Reynaldo Lopez (2-1, 1.34) in the opener of the doubleheader.
5/19/24 Padres notes: Dylan Cease expanding his repertoire, brings sweet treat to ballpark.

Dylan Cease harvested honey on Saturday, shared it with teammates on Sunday; rainout lines up Padres' top three starters to go against Yankees at Petco

5/14/24 Padres' Dylan Cease faces Rockies, winners of 5 in a row. As he watched Dylan Cease strike out one helpless Chicago Cubs hitter after another last week, San Diego Padres right fielder Fernando Tatis Jr. came to a realization. "When you see that, you're just grateful he's on your team," Tatis Jr. said. Cease will try to keep up his dominant early-season form Tuesday night when San Diego hosts the suddenly hot Colorado Rockies in the middle contest of the teams' three-game series. The big right-hander is coming off an overpowering outing last Wednesday, striking out 12 and allowing one infield single in seven innings during a 3-0 win at Wrigley Field.
5/13/24 Padres Starters Create History More Than 100 Years in the Making. The San Diego Padres enter the new week coming off an impressive series win over the rival Los Angeles Dodgers, taking two of three games at home. For the most part, the Padres pitching staff shut down the dominant Los Angeles offense and they created some history with the performances. Including the outing from right-hander Dylan Cease against the Chicago Cubs on May 8 and the Padres' starters this past weekend, the team became the first squad since 1893 to have four straight starts of at least five innings while allowing two or fewer hits. Cease started it for San Diego, Micheal King did his part on May 10, Matt Waldron on May 11, and Yu Darvish on May 12.
