5/24/24 Braves Sign Yet Another Discarded Mets Position Player. The Atlanta Braves have had a thing for former New York Mets infielders. After signing Luis Guillorme to a one year deal for their main infield utility spot (and then trading him to the Los Angeles Angels), the Braves made a cash trade to acquire DFA'd Zack Short, who started the season with the Mets before making a brief cameo with the Boston Red Sox. The Braves today announced that they have signed former Mets infielder Joey Wendle, who was waived last week, to a major league contract.
5/15/24 Ron Washington throws Angels player under the bus after botched moment vs. Cardinals. The Los Angeles Angels lost a tough one at home to the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday night. The Angels made a big comeback before the 7th inning, and they had a golden chance to tie the game or take the lead in the 8th inning as they had the bases loaded with one out. Los Angeles manager Ron Washington called for a suicide squeeze with Luis Guillorme up to bat, and Guillorme did not get the bunt down.
5/15/24 Angels manager Ron Washington criticizes Luis Guillorme's failed squeeze bunt: 'He didn’t do the job.'. It's been a frustrating start for the Angels and Washington was in no mood for mistakes.
